Here is a thought. If you go back to 1996 when John Barnes got knocked out during a win over the pussies at the G. We should find out where the perpetrator of that act plays now. Does the name John Howat ring a bell?

Funny enough i was drinking with him at last years melbourne cup bbq at my mates place in beaconsfield..[his missus and my mates missus work together] at first i didnt recognize him but my mate said hey moe you barrack for the tiges,john used to play for them.....then it clicked,nice enough guy,doesnt play anymore ,doesnt follow footy that much ether...him and my mate won big on the cup.....

Ps still walks like he has a carrot up his ****....

Last seen as captain\coach of Mitcham i do believe ..... and from all reports he was not much chop

I remember him stitching up Barnes , there was a big investigation into the incident but he got of from memory , i could be wrong

Didn't some boundary umpire pipe up and say it was an accidental collision?

My memory of it is pretty hazy but that could be right ..... all i can remember was Barnes was knocked clean out and JH was pretty lucky to have gotten off .

From memory i think the boundary ump was a fair distance away from the incident and the cred of his statement was questioned , but once again , i could be wrong
