last time we played the blues with Judd playing i belive it was Martin? i could be wrong.

How will we "stop" Judd?

would love to see Trent have a crack or Lids maybe rotate these two on him?

Open to thoughts and opinons even from blue supporters on who they think teh tigers will play on Judd (no smart arse comments) :thumbsu:

I reckon Jackson will the get the gig for most of the game. Martin for short stints to learn, but doesn't have the tank, the tactics, nor the tackle style to be able to be effective against Judd. I think that Lids will stay in the HB, as someone between Judd and the goals. The only other viable option is Grigg, but not sure whether its a good thing putting a first gamer (for Richmond) against Judd.

I believe last time around Lids had the job for a while and then Tuck got to run with him. I believe this was because Jackson was out. This time I'd play Jackson on him and let our attacking players play their natural game.

Actually, Mitch Morton was the one running with Judd for the first half last time around. Lids had a stint in the second half from memory, and did well.

I thought I read that Jackson has been injured , not on full training load yet (did anyone else read that?). So may affect his time on Judd. It's good RFC have a few options to rotate off him. As far as Grigg goes I think it would be a big ask but with the right attitude who knows and it would be a great way for him continue to gain the respect of the rest of the team.

I'd say our midfield is ready to tackle theirs one on one and beat them anyway.
Why worry about one player when most don't judge him to be as good as the umpires do anyway?

Because he carries Carlton on his back. If you can do a good shutdown job on Judd, you're 90% of the way towards winning.

Jackson is the best option but given his injuries I'm not sure whether he'll be up to it. Possibly Grigg.

I don't think Houli has enough height and run to go with Judd.

If we can keep them away from their open running game, i don't think their small forwards will be as problematic.

I don't think it'll matter too much whether they shut jack down or not. The game will be won in the midfield. We need to play contested footy, they need to play open footy.

I honestly think our midfield is strong enough to take on Carltons and emerge victorious. How do you reckon Collins will fair, and who will play on him?

I doubt Collins will start on the ground....and I doubt much time will be spent on trying to think of a match up for him from our side IMO.

Not saying he can't have an impact, just something that can be taken care of matchday.

It was an even contest but a bad match up. Deledio is 8cm shorter

Is an obvious troll. Don't get sucked in.

I reckon there will be a rotation on Judd, but I would like to see Grigg or Jackson do most of the work, with Lids covering him at stages as well.

I would also like Martin to have a run on him and learn how hard he needs to work and Cotch to have a run cos it would be great to see how he is coming along.

I agree, but I don't think he will be able to. I reckon Cotch will be the guy the blues tag, and most oppositions tag, in our midfield.

I reckon we should start with Jackson on him, play him on him for a half and see how he goes. If Judd gets on top, then you pretty much concede. Instead you play someone on him that can hurt him the other way, so atleast you can break even. Force him to be accountable if the tag doesn't work. Judd's a good player, but you win games by scoring, so I want to see our boys play positively and take it to the opposition.

The most important match up works in our favour imo. I can't see a defender they've got capable of stopping Riewoldt. If we can break even in the middle and get some good inside 50, Riewoldt looms as the matchwinner.
