Is this my opportunity to ask a bunch of n00b questions? I certainly hope so cos I'm about to ask them anyway. First time I will be making treks down for the footy (in Canberra) in a while so:

Where is the best area to reserve seats for the game?

Is there a particular area where the Blues fans sit?

Is this likely to be a 'fully ticketed game' so I should buy my seats now so I don't get sh*t ones?

I bought the old man a membership for xmas, so he and mum will be joining my partner and I for a few games...if mum is not a member can I buy her tix during this week (before general public goes on sale) so she can sit with us, or must she sit alone to be harangued mercilessly by feral Tigers fans?

Is the premium seating the ones up the top, and the regular closer to ground level?

Any guidance from experienced locals would be most appreciated :):thumbsu:

is that for public reserved seating too?

General public opens on the 10th of March. Just members pre-sale up until then.

Kind of like, how long is a piece of string? Generally the wing is the best as you can see around the ground evenly ie you're in the middle. Level 1 if you want to be close to the action. Level 2 if you want to see the play unfold more easily.

Basically, most people have different opinions on this...it's wherever you enjoy it the most.

Not really, unless you're in the cheer squad. If you book the tickets online I think you just get allocated best available seats. If you purchase in a store or over phone the sales person can allocate you to a Carlton friendly area (or they use to anyway)

Not sure, don't think so to be honest.

Actually didn't check, only booked members tickets this morning...and I can't get in again with my barcode #, so hopefully someone tell you. Or just ring ticketek. Usually you can, but yeah not sure

Pretty sure premium is level 2, reserve is level 1 but if sold out can be level 3...don't quote me on that though

Tickets for MCG games went on sale this morning, Monday 2nd March, to members who want to upgrade their membership to a reserved seat.

16 game members can purchase a seat to any game, home or away. This includes the round 1 fixture of Richmond v Carlton.

11 game members can purchase a seat to any MCG home game from today however will need to wait until March 10th if they wish to purchase entry and reserved seat to our round 1 away match against Richmond.

Tickets can be purchased through Ticketek on 132 849, online www.ticketek.com.au or via any Ticketek outlet.

Members will need to quote their 12 digit barcode number.

How much extra does it cost to reserve a seat as opposed to just going in and sitting anywhere the general admission area? I'm on the ticketek website and it's kind of confusing. Am I right that it's $13 to reserve a seat for members? Do people think it's a game necessary to reserve tickets to ensure a good seat?

And how much for a general admission ticket for a friend who doesn't have a membership? Because the website is only showing prices for reserved and premium seating (I havn't put my membership barcode number in yet to go to the next page because of Blue Boys saying he can't get in with his carcode # again and I'm not going to buy the tickets today)

Go for it mate, I assume it's only blocking me because I already purchased tickets to that game using my bar code.

If you just turn up on the night, you will only be able to sit level 3 (or standing on level 1 at the top of the stairs). So if you're happy to sit level 3 you don't have to get a reserved seat.

As for your friend, not sure on the general admin but tickets are usually $20 and a little less for concession
