Our frenetic handball kind of reminds me of Geelong’s around 2009/2010 to break Clarko’s zone defence. I guess that what North’s dominance does to other teams- adapt or be left behind.

It’s very high risk footy. We can’t be missing 5m handballs. Oppo can just press the outlet player and pressure that mistake. Turnover, goal.

We just need to keep plugging away at it and hope it improves over time.

Has had a couple of good contested marks. Would like to see her on a wing full time to work out what the ball feels like again.

Essendon scored only two points after parking the bus in our forward line after quarter time. To be fair, our backline played well when called upon. Like most games this year, we missed quite a few gettable goals.

Be interesting to see how we go against Melbourne next week.

Possibly Mullins best game, plus Peters looked quite good and Wright showed some good signs. Seeing some younger players coming through is important.

The game plan looks great when the skills match it. Short kicking works for us but need the skills. Essendon gifted us the ball back which the better teams won’t do.

Though there were glimpses to show that Peters could become a really good player. Looked much stronger than last year and did really well when the game was on her terms.

Hard not to be impressed by Wright as well. I hope they can squeeze her into the team; she looks very much like she would develop rapidly with a few games.
