Good win. Any win with a forward line headlined by Cox, Cameron, Thomas and Appleby is a good win.

Awful first half but heaps of players grew into the game in the second half and we were able to capitalise on opportunities the best we have in months.

A first quarter to forget ends with one of our better performances in the last month. The Roos only scores came from complete defensive stuff ups, but that tidied up in the second half. One that won't be re watched any time soon, but was good to get the points.

Loved the work of guys like Madgen and Ruscoe, both guys who are improving and contributing. Daicos was nice and clean throughout. Leaders stood up as the game went on and had a solid contribution across some of our more senior players. The pig showed why he is so important to the team with his heart and workrate and endeavour.

We managed a lot of our score through opposition turnovers and pressuring them into mistakes. This is the way forward for us, along with taking more chances through the middle.

Well we got a win, which we needed. And yes - we are more likely to make finals. And we had no injuries.

BUT

- It was another game where we looked totally disconnected when moving the ball from defence to midfield, and midfield to attack. Against a side who were missing maybe 2 of their best 5 players and plenty of others. Many more than us. Our players still aren't playing cohesively at all. We can barely string 5 good minutes together
- We had 3 marks inside 50 for the game. North had 9. We got lucky early with their poor conversion.
- Varcoe and Mayne were diabolical. Cox and Cameron showed nothing between them (bar Cox's faux-aggression when the game was over)
- Despite kicking 60+, a rarity for Buckley's Collingwood these days, the forward line is still battling. I'd go as far to say it's comfortably in the league's bottom 4, even with Mihocek back next week.

We are making up the numbers in 2020. But from 2021 onwards - how on earth do we fix this mess (particularly the forward line)?

Started very badly, but got a little better towards the end. A win is a win, indeed. Man, our skills and decision making make me weep in frustration at times. Hope we played ourselves into a bit of form for Carlton, who will probably come out hard for us, as usual.
Crisp was super, in fact most of the def. played well, except for the odd clanger. Our avenues to goal remain a huge headache though.

Enjoyable 2nd half. The game didn't really open up, but we moved the ball better and reaped some reward.

I was a Daicos doubter before this year. I knew he had good touch but he had no urgency. Now he's the sort of player who makes his teammates look better.

Defence rediscovered some calm.

Good to see some spirit across the ground.

Sidey will be a big loss.

Go Pies!

Well, we won. But we really need to get some games into the future players.

I mean I like Varcoe, but Quaynor probably comes in for him soon.

Mayne has to make way for Shazz or Murphy.

Appleby I’m not sold on but give him some games. Same with a Broomhead. Find out is they can play at the level.

Dunn shouldn’t play again inless desperate - or if Moore is moved forward.

stephenson is a mystery.

phillips okay....

c brown - we know hat he offers.

ruscoe should be pursued with.

has to be either Cameron or cox -on or other.

so there needs to be a change be in attitude.

Nice win by Miles from Convincing. North Kids where pretty much gone in the last qtr and we did enough to win.

So with 4 Games to Go we need 2 wins to make the Finals. That is no Certainty that to Happen.

Ruscoe good game with 3 Goals. Daicos is all Class. Cox was even Descent in 4th Qtr - Actually playing in Front instead of Behind his Man.

Grundy had Poor 1st Half but better in 2nd. Pendles getting some Form Back.

Scumps and VAR where Horrendus

If we return to some kind of normal, hopefully preseason can be used to help this. If I'm not mistaken, they cannot work on it currently and they only work in line groups?

It wasn’t a great start by any stretch of the imagination, but you could literally see it improving before your eyes over the course of the game.

I’m actually encouraged by tonight’s game. I felt like we started to get a bit of confidence back and didn’t look as stagnant and predictable.

It’s not gonna be easy, but here’s to hoping we can build on it.

I still feel like we are a mess, and have some massive issues in the forward half. But it was nice to see the boys smiling and having a relieved laugh after the win.

I was happy to see us be more risky in moving the ball forward with kicks off the ground and tapping to advantage, rather than going for perfection with slow ball movement.

Also, have been none too pleased with my best boy Sidey this year. Not that he needs my blessing but after watching his post match I can only wish him the best of luck, hope all goes well with the birth, and of course hope he gets back to his other family (us) as soon as possible.
