Teams for Freo/Pies come out tonight.

Really hoping Dale and Hamling can keep their spots in the side this week.

Hamling should be safe for the time being. Our VFL watchers said Morris and Talia didn't have brilliant games. Dale is a big sub risk and could be dropped as Crameri will be available this week. Another Bulldog to watch is Toby McLean, who had a good game against the Lions and is on the bubble. Also Caleb Daniel (M/F) has been in good form for Footscray and may debut soon :)

I can't decide whether to make 2 upgrade trades this week so I can field 18 and improve my ranking short term or horde the second trade and 140k and play 1 short. I've only been getting 40-50 from my 18th player even when I've had 20 & 19 starters the last 2 weeks, so maybe it would be wiser to look at the big picture?

What would your second trade be? If it would be an upgrade to a premo you might as well do it. If it's a downgrade to someone like McLean maybe give it a miss

McLean - the bubble boy!

Both upgrades M9 Lang > Mid or M/F Premo & Tarrant > Fwd Premo

1 upgrade trade would 'complete' my side for now as I'd like to use my left over 140k for Griff > GAJ in 2-3 weeks time. However, I could always sideways whichever other premo is underperforming in 2-3 weeks time for GAJ and upgrade Griff this week instead. It's just that here aren't any premo mids I really want to bring in for the rest of the year right now.

I'm 1/2 considering Griff > Tom Mitchell as my 2nd trade which would then leave Bont to become my M9/F7 swingman once I do bring GAJ in.

I like the Griff to Tom Mitchell idea actually. Mitchell may not score as well as a mid superpremo, but with trades getting low and injuries/players getting rested as the year goes on it will probably pay off long term

The mid premos suck this week with the bye. There aren't many at a real juicy price, unless you want to take a punt on Murphy or JPK. You've got Hanners and Parker in the mid to high 500k, but most teams already have a few Swans. I would have liked to have picked up Ward or Priddis this week if they were playing. They're both pretty much full priced, but I'd have been happy to spend a bit more to know that they'll pump out at least 110 pretty much every week and I won't have to worry about them again. Unfortunately the bye has wrecked that for me though

Thanks for the feedback Lums, appreciate it. I do like having lot's of DPP options, especially since I'm low on trades. Would really help me having 2-3 M/F DPP links in the midfield later in the season.

Rd 13 - 'Gaz Watch'
Rd 14 - 'Gaz Watch part 2: Should I or Shouldn't I'
Rd 15 - 'Gaz Watch part 3: I wish I could afford Gaz'
Rd 16 - 'Gaz Watch part 4: F@#% you all if you have Gaz'
Rd 17- "Gaz why did you have to pop your shoulder again? You could at least have done it before we all traded you in" :D:p

So far in the bye weeks my ranking has gone:

8.8k - 8.5k back out to 8.8k

At least I know where I'll end up at the end of this round!

No!
We need Gaz to go poo
Get to 500k please

Nah, heck that then everyone would have him. I want him to do well enough in his first few weeks back so most can't afford to trade him in without burning 3 trades.

As tempting as this would be, the cheaper he gets more people will pick him up. I personally hopes he doesn't dip below 600 giving the people that can afford him a POD.

mmm fair enough, good points!

I ve already wrecked Sloane, Birchall, Rocky and Mummys season; I see no reason why Ablett wont re-do his shoulder immediately after I trade him in.
