The most disappointing effort all season, outplayed and outsmarted by a team who adapted to the conditions on the night. Will need a much better effort for the remainder of the season to play in September.

Lucas, Bootsma and Robinson should be dropped. Yarran showed enough to start next week. Hendo our best by a mile.
Tonight showed that our recruiting for the last 5 years is below that of at least 10 other clubs. Kreuzer hasn't been the player we wanted or needed. I don't see us turning things around in a hurry, we might as well blood some young 'uns, plan for 2014.

Umps didn't cost us the game, we lost it early.

But FFS, what's with us never getting frees in the second half of matches?

4 frees in a half last week, no frees in the 3rd quarter even though we dominated.

Again they didn't cost us the game, but boy does it get frustrating.

Conditions like tonight really show up the poorly skilled players but hey didn't you hear we are the most f..ked over side in the comp by the umps, so maybe dont be too harsh.

It is only 8m shorter and 5m narrower than the MCG.

I feared being jumped, and got jumped, and in the end it was the difference, we spent a lot of tickets getting back into the game and just faded in the last, why oh why did tex try and dribble it, ram the ****ing thing home mate!!!!

We just aren't there, it pains me to say it however we don't have the team to challenge. I'm really hoping I'm wrong and we just need to click but playing 3qtrs every week is just pissing me off.

Sorry but Robinson wont last long in our side, that disposal will never fix, which is hurting us. will be taken over when buckley and menzel are ready.

A comparison between the teams doesn't look at all good for us going forward either. They've brought in hannebery and jack in the last few seasons, and now have another jack and Mitchell, who all look like good solidly built football players who have disposal skills. Where are our young midfielders? Menzel? Cachia? Compared to the swans, our drafting has been second rate.

I don't want to single out players, but we've drafted a lot of similar types. Lucas, Yarran, Armfield, bootsma. Why aren't we looking for genuine midfielders? Hard bodied, skilled players. We rely on too few to do the job, week in, week out.
