Dockers IDGAF 81pt defeated the Saints best number 9.15.69

Realistically most didn't give us a chance but we gave it a fair shake for 3 quarters, just couldn't really finalise some rewards and struggled for little sections. Lets not talk about that last quarter as it's depressing and instead move onto the positives;

I'm not using the rollback feature as it's weird and I like writing op's. Also not locking old, I'll leave that to others as why not? Go Ham!

Max Hall, did every well, looks at home and comfortable at the level.
Keeler did some nice things, we look better with him up forward.
The general midfield set up worked well, Windy on a HFF rotating in and out just really owning that contest and making it hard.

Discuss peeps and keep it civil in your rubbishing of fluro irrelevant and purple people eaters.

Tauru and Hall break out games (Hall’s been solid all season but he really moved the needle today) Keeler continuing to impress. Garcia excellent in the guts.

Tauru has to be a gimme for the rising star. He challenged the record for most spoils in a game by a Saints player in his second game (14 spoils). He is marking, tackling, just a brick wall, with so much room to grow and improve. Ultra impressive, and goes to show how much we’ve lacked height.

No doubt we also lacked some finishing power - no proper tall forwards. Could’ve been cleaner with it but, freo on the other end basically won the game due to several tall marking players and Jackson/Darcy going up forward.

Didn’t have the rub of the green either (some genuinely questionable decisions). Didn’t lose us the game or anything but it adds up. Great to see us smack them in clearances, whilst losing the hitouts, we just weren’t damaging enough. Frustrating yes, but why get upset over it? We’re here to improve, I think this game was a genuine glimpse of what we’re building towards. All in all, very promising, more so than the 61 points we beat them by in May in my opinion.

I’ll leave it to the club to be upset with the loss, but as a fan, there’s a lot to like.

Add Phillipou, King, top 10 (dare I say top 5) pick, Fincher, perhaps TDK & Bergman, retain Nas, and we will have a young and rearing to go list that has some serious talent and bums on seats star power.

Disappointed to lose because we had our chances but thrilled with how we played.

Tauru is already a star. It's only game 2.

Hall is a player. So classy and smart with his disposals. And you can tell his tackles hurt.

We have to keep Marshall. Combining him with TDK could be game changing.

Forwards need to work on their kicking. Cost us the game. So may of those shots were gettable.

Solid return from Henry. Better than I expected. He just needs some fitness but he can still play at this level.

Our lack of key forward depth is killing us. Wood has been serviceable, but he's clearly not a key forward. Need to recruit a 195cm+ true CHF just to give our other blokes a chop out. Wood, Owens, and Sharman are all third tall types and aren't capable of being the top dog.

Keeler will be a great 2nd tall, but we need someone in the interim to give us a bit more cover, especially given King's circumstances.

Otherwise a valiant loss, lots of good kids to look forward to.

Last 2 weeks have shown quite a bit. Pies and Fremantle are two of the top teams in the competition, and we stuck with both sides for 4 quarters.

The forward line needs a lot of work, seeing Keeler make a lead and kick a goal is something I'd like to see 5 times a game.
Too often the fast kicking just killed us. Constant turnovers.

Steele played pretty good, I'm harsh on him, so I'll give him credit for today's game. Didn't notice him in the last quarter, but he played well up until then at least.

Tauru is a superstar already. His effort and ability in his second game blew me away. Hopefully he stays in the team.

Who to drop for next week? I can't argue against dropping Butler. Dunno who is looking to come back into the side next week. Hill for Butler, maybe?
Despite Hills form being poor, I think he's more effective than Butler is.

I'd love to know how we see the future of the forward line. Obviously King will be huge for us when back, but I'm wondering can Keeler have a huge offseason and take it to another level? Sharman needs to be the 4th or 5th banana. I think we need to keep Marshall so we at least have options because with a good bunch of talls we could be very dangerous. The lack of depth in that area is concerning unless we see Keeler going up a level. Still thought Keeler showed signs by the way.

Tauru incredible. What a pickup.

Loved Hugo's game. Really gone up a level, looks like an AFL player, good disposal, very clean in close.

Trav is still learning how to use his weapons but thought he was servicable.

Hall is a gun.

We need a guy that is going to stop a halfback like Clark. Clark basically won them the game. Maybe a Windy tag would have been an option?

Frustrating to lose but you can start to see what we're building. The number one issue is the forward line, they really cost us the game in my opinion.

Maybe Collard for Butler, and Schoenmakers for Jack Carrol? For next weeks game.
Yeah Butler was really poor.

Thought he was stiff not to get a free early right in front of goal though for front on contact.

What were thoughts on the free to Dudley? Thought he was very lucky there, that was a huge moment. Loved seeing Tauru take it on, no doubt he'll get encouragement to keep it up.

Tauru was incredible launching at everything almost took about 5 great marks too. His energy and enthusiasm is electric. Going to be the best of this draft for sure.

Garcia did an excellent job.

Hall was superb.
A lot to be excited about. Shame the umps won’t let anything happen anytime soon.

Thought Wilkie and sincs had an off day. And the lack of marking power is glaring. Couldn’t get out of defence and couldn’t take a mark inside 50. Need some height and some strength big time.
