Bit quiet on here after the weekend results. Huge result by Mt Evelyn over Upwey at the dome, one I'm sure they'll be excited about. I know Mt Evelyn were pretty disappointed with how one of their young kids (who had been playing Seniors) was treated by an Upwey kid at U/18 Interleague training.

In Division 2, surprised to see Powelltown knocking off Yarra Glen and sees Belgrave have a two game break at the top of the table.

HUGE weekend yea almost upseting kinglake bummer for the tigers. belgrave kept on there merry way powelltown great footy, and seville is hanging in there. in div 1 woori snuck away with close game, gembrook put the dont argue to warby monbulk just happy to have a win olinda to consistant for wandin and mt evelyn far to tuff for a weak upwey. upwey was the softest game i have watched . need some hard heads back to win footy.

Watched the Olinda home team win comfortably against Wandin. At home the Bloods are winning by an average of over six goals. The reverse is true for away games. (Currently a percentage of exactly 100)

Mick Scott made yet another comeback. AYoung seemed to be badly missed in the Wandin forward line. Justin Myer must have had over forty touches, but most were received in the defensive areas of the ground.

BWalt threatened to kick a bag for the day, with three early goals. An unfortunate collision with the fence, face first, restricted him for the rest of the game.
After watching the three games of footy, Wandin have far more depth than a couple of years ago. Hats off to them for trying to turn the club around with their ressies & u18s winning.

Good from Blake defeating the fence in a good 1 on 1.
Bill is in the mail.
also, great effort from the Olinda lads, exactly 100%!
Don't see that happen too much. 521 for and against.
I'll take 100% as any hundred is always good.

Now i know why Upwey has had a slow start to the season. Too much dance practice and not enough footy practice LOL. Just saw a clip of RVH at his wedding. Massive effort looked like a lot of fun!

Had my first look at both sides for a while. Wandin looked like they were poised to make a late surge all day, and pinch it, but seemed to not take full opportunity up forward.
Also, their backline seemed a bit light-on, and they seemed to waste a lot of time complaining to the orange maggots.
Meyers had a truckload of the footy - but it looked as though he got a lot of loose footy on the HB Line and just pumped the ball forward aimlessly. Once he and Chapman started running with it in the last qtr, they looked a lot more dangerous.
The Bloods dominated the contested footy and the ruck - big Milwood even plucked a couple of big grabs and kicked a nice snap shot around the corner.
Not a bad day up there. The ground looks like it's just about to turn ugly - not sure if they had Unders there on Sunday too.
They could have also turned the heater on too. Also, they lose a point for running out of Dimmies at half time, but gain a point for being the first local footy club I've been to that sell JD Cans!
It's the little things that make a difference!
Just wondering as well - are there plans for a bit of a refurb with the rooms? Doesn't look very different than when I used to spend a bit of time up there in the early 90's.

Very close to finalising new rooms layout Moin. Hoping to be in brand spanking facilities during the 2013 season. Hilltop's been working on this masterplan, in conjunction with SOYR etc since August 2007. We are very close and its very exciting !!! I'm sure everyone up this way will benefit from this development, not just the tenant clubs..

The bad news off of the weekend
Dallas spencer did his acl so that's pretty much it for him
Fantastic player for woori
200+ games
2 time premiership player
Countless top 5 b f finishes
Interleague rep
Best back pocket the Yvmdfl has seen
Really the only player to break even with Moorecroft
Big loss at woori

If Dallas has done ACL, that is bad news for Woori.
Not often you get the caliber of player in your club like Dallas.
Gun player and bloke!
I have seen him smash players bigger, smaller or whatever is served up to him.
Tough as nails so wouldn't think a little thing like an ACL would stop him from playing further down the track.

That is bad news, one of the best to pull on the Woori jumper ever. A great player and a great fella around the club. Very unlucky not to win the B+F a few yrs back lol we had a count back numerous times to try and find a vote or 2 so Ryno wouldnt win. I agree one of the best backline players the comp has had, but dont tell him, he wants to be an onballer.

Best red headed back pocket Wooris had Burnt out?

A local Government project to be completed between the end of this season and the beginning of the next, good luck with that. I hope you have a plan "B". Then again, I notice you said during the 2013 season, which virtually takes it up to September 2013.

In all honestly though, I hope you end up a great facility as what you have at the moment is probably the worst in local footy.

You've never been to Wandin have you?

It will happen, alright. Tim's mob have worked long, hard and smart on this Hilltop project. They have been very generous in their help for Monbulk's efforts at establishing a Master Plan, too!
Great club! ;)

Not doubting Tim's mob at all MH, more our local council who don't have a great track record in supporting local clubs.

I have been to Wandin, Finger, but not for quite a while.

Hi monnie
How are the Internet cafes over there compared to the ones in Melbourne you go too?
Well priced ? And are the keyboards different?

Depends. The shire can only give what it's got - and within paramenters. Clubs often don't get how to work with councils. They aren't charities. If the proposition is justified with good, sound reasoning, the club has a proven record of management and the project is of benefit for the wider community, then SYR are very supportive. For all those reasons and more, OFCFCFCFC were successful in negotiations with council. They know SYR don't just throw cash at anyone and they did their homework. WY etc, same.

The keyboards were an issue on the last trips. Prices vary - a lot of businesses offer free access to customers, so the internet cafe, per se, is less common now. This time I am carrying a laptop and using the complementary wireless networks at the hotels. Much cheaper and more convenient for a host of reasons.
Email has been an issue. The email client confuses the local ISP's so I resort to web mail, Skype, Facebook, etc.
