Nailing the captains choice becoming more critical

Lions and Dogs with late games this week might lead to some left field VC options

Good luck all

Oliver into Macrae.

OP nailed it in regards to the importance of a good captain choice. In some cases it could be 1000s of ranking spots, I went back 1300 spots by having Neale Captain after having Oliver all day.

Looking at the top ranked side v mine
At the moment I am running
Witherden, Daicos v Sinclair, Crisp
Keayes, Gresham v Smith Daicos
Gawn v Witts
Butters v Heeney
I have to wait one more week to run full mid 4 premo defence, i think he runs his this week.
200 Gawn as VC 🤞will close the gap, into Macrae if needed.

Looks like I’m going to have to break the golden rule of never C/VCing a new recruit. No other viable options.
Ollipig onto Macrae.
Apologies in advance to all the Piggy owners out there. Don’t say you weren’t warned!

Sydney playing last brings a myriad of opportunities thanks to McCartin taking a head knock.

Macraes last 3 against Essendon are 154,122 and 137 and seems the obvious C option playing the 2nd last game of the round. Lock for me.

Ollipig a chance to go big against the Hawks but will he go big back to back?
Max certainly a consideration (but not for me, cant VC who you don't have)
Hewett/Doch/Cripps all averaging 117-118 and up against the blue and white traffic cones
Steele went 145 against Port late last year but just cracked the ton in the two matches prior. Port now and Port then are two different beasts though so certainly an option.

I've got the upper hand in my cash league this week so may well chase my opponent on VC. Most likely he will go Steele but Cripps/Hewett are possibilities. Take that out of it and part of me wants to go Hewett VC....

My radar is a bit off on VC/Cs this year, though some Macrae big VC scores has been good.

Averaging 128. Both times I've relied on Neale as C he's gone 105 and 108 - the bloody dude is averaging 130+, where is that when I need it!

I will VC Maximus this week and be surprised if I have to use a C - who will likely be Macrae against the Essendon sieve midfield.

Same here. Not risking the C on Neale for a while. His average is inflated by that 198.

Ideally, I would like to go with this:
VC Crippa
C Macrae

But, I've got no useful loopy
So I might have to throw the VC on one of the earlier matches

Short - he may be able to run free amongst the WCE fwd giants
Witherden - throw the VC on the new recruit gull
Preuss - a bit left field and just for fun :D

I think the choice is made!
