5. Headland: Was clearly BOG. Absolutely destroyed the Saints on the wing with his penetrating and accurate deliveries by foot into our forward line.
4. Hayden: Towelled the most dangerous small forward in the league (IMO) as well as providing great drive and rebound from defense. What more could you want?
3. Haddrill: Towelled the Saints most influential player, other than for a brief period in the third quarter, and was rock solid in defense with his defensive marks.
2. Woods: Used his athleticism, reach and high vertical leap to keep Riewoldt out of the game early and used his creativity to rebound the ball from defense when Riewoldt was moved into the middle.
1. Pavlich: Like Headland, he cut their midfield apart throughout the course of the game as well as chipping in with two goals
Unlucky:
Walker: Played one of his best games for us and showed resiliency after giving away that 50 metre penalty and really put his body on the line at times which is something he has often been criticized of.
Hasleby: Probably would have received a vote if he hadn't dropped some fairly simple marks in the forward line (harsh, I know).
McManus: Had another great game although he did cost us on a few occassions with his mishandling of the ball.
I know it's harder for you not being able to watch the game from the ground, but I didn't think Bell had one of his better games. He turned the ball over a few times when we were going forward, gave Harvey far too much space and allowed him to be their most damaging player.
However, I thought it was good to see Bellie absorb the bump early in the game and jump straight back to his feet. Harvey always plays well at Subi and seems to get the better of Bell but like always, Bell will bounce back next week.
