Backed Toronado & convinced he was about to go straight past the winner.
Sadly Dawn Approach didnt cause the interference

Sorry all - with the 1.5 hour commute door-to-door each day, plus doing the form with no days off (as opposed to Flem) and all the post race dinners I haven't had time to post selections for the remaining days. I'm sure you all coping ok without me.

Disappointing interest has waned after Day 1 on here - it is a fantastic carnival and infinitely superior to anything that can be put up by Australian racing - including cup week.

1 - better quality of horseflesh across the board (maybe excluding sprinters)
2 - every race means something and has a lot of history behind - no 0-89 races filling out the card to get to 10 races
3 - only 6 races per day - means there is a big focus on every race and nothing gets lost in the program
4 - 2:30pm start - none of this bullshit pre-noon racing
5 - huge racetrack with a straight mile - plenty of room for all runners - not like the pokey Australian tracks (Flemington excluded)

The only downside is that there is no day off for a mid-carnival recovery.

Great to see these 2 clash in the Sussex last night & Toronado turn the tables with a clear run

seth

Yup - they are developing an amazing rivalry. As a Dawn Approach fan I thought he was home when he kicked a couple clear inside the last furlong, but Richard Hughes is a master at riding Goodwood and Toronado showed a tremendous turn of foot to run him down.

Next clash perhaps the QEII on Champions Day? Although would love to see them both go to France to take on Intello!

Toronado runs in the Juddmonte at York at 12.40am where he clashes with Al Kazeem
Tune in if you can, should be another cracker
