I really believed we would throw pick 51 at West Coast for Gardiner, but obviously the club feels this selection is still somewhat useful.

Therefore I am curious as to what will happen in this area now, since I can not see us sticking with C grade ruckmen in Dudluca, Bryan, and McLaren to run out our entire 2007 season between them.

Maybe this means we might end up drafting Leuenberger after all?

I think we will look at some of the uncontracted ruckman, here are some of the options that we will have to choose from:

* Beau McDonald
* Clarke Keating
* Tristian Carteledge

Not sure who else is out there but there is no doubt in my mind that we will need to use one of our late picks in the National Draft on an established ruckman. With French retired we have absolutely no-one.

Thank god we did not draft this dud

Totally agree. I can sleep so much better knowing he is the Saints' problem now and there is no chance he will be at the Blues next year.

I expect us to draft a young ruckman hopefully in the ND and maybe look at an experienced VFL tap ruckman as our over-23 rookie.

Time to develop our own ruckmen and hopefully with the improvement of Aisake and possibly Batson we will soon have a great young ruck force!
