Anyone have any idea why the big Ant no longer provides any relief in the ruck? Avg 5 min per quarter always used to be a good way to get his hands on the pill, he can get us inside fifty from CHB, Trav can man the forward line fine on his lonesome, and clearly the Richards/Bryan experiment is failing.

He doesn't have the tank for 5 minutes of ruck.

He's blowing hard 5 minutes into every game.

On a hilarious side note, the streak of Channel-Ten-commentators-suggesting-Rocca-has-a-run-in-the-ruck has reached something like 27 games in a row. There's no safer money to be found anywhere.

Yes, and I hate agreeing with Robert Walls. But I'd even take just a centre bounce contest so he can get amongst it, smash some bodies, maybe win a clearance.

I used to be able to accept the "then who will we kick it to?" argument- but now we have an answer- Trav.

He is too slow and hasn't got much in the tank.
I reckon next year,Rocca will be dropped to make way for players like rusling, reid and Chris Dawes.Rocca will be used sparingly next year if injuries happen like wakelin was used this year for the absence of Clement and presti.
This could work well for rocca the presurre could be off him to produce week in week out.The 3 talls will be travis, chris dawes, and ben reid with Rusling in there somewhere and rocca as the spare big forward.
Good signs from this weeks reserves, Rusling kicked 5 goals and Chris Dawes kicked 2.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I'm hoping for big things from Dawes in 2008. Rusling is going to have to impress next year or GONE!

rocca has been our best ruck in the past 12 years or so, too bad he doesnt ruck often enough! I would def give him a run in there when he isnt doing anything up forward. STill a valuable forward tho

Rocca is a great ruck. He just can't get around the ground as he doesnt have the tank. I would suggest that he takes the centre bounce then goes forward & does all forward line ruck work, this would leave Josh starting forward/bench and he can put more energy into running the other rucks around the ground & becoming effectively another midfielder.

Oppo backs would love it. The worlds slowest ruckman upfield, trying to get back into the forward line, while they monstered the worlds most lightly built full forward (Fraser) and then so knackered that he couldn't lead a rat up a drain pipe, let alone for the ball. BTW he would be lucky to clear a house brick with his leap and doesn't have the agility to hurt at ground level like Josh, his days were numbered as a No 2 or fill in fwd/ruck with the grabbing the ball in the ruck rule. Let him lead like he does and use his strength to take contested marks, the ruck saviour will have to come from somewhere else I'm afraid dear friends.
