playing against a man with a broken foot! it was woeful. We were smashed in this department, and need MASSIVE improvement.

Both Cloke and Kruezer were so pre-occupied with Cox, that they were always out positioned when the ball went up aroung the grounds. And in the centre, you could see them watching Cox instead of jumping at the ball.

On a positive note, it would have been great for kruuuuuz to run around with cox. will gain alot from the experience :thumbsu:

I think its HAMMER time!

Kreuzer would have picked up a lot from last night.

Cloke is a trier who would have been a great ruck with his aggresion if he was only taller...sigh.

Hammer at this stage in his career would not have made a huge difference, although it would have been a good learning experience for him. Hammer might have made an impact with the centre bounces, but Cox would have killed him around the ground which is the main weakness in the young blokes game. Cox would have picked up thirty odd possies and a few less taps of which only about a third were to advantage.

It was an awesome effort by Cox on one leg though:thumbsu:

I always thought hammer is pretty good around the ground and very quick.

It would be good for them to learn off cox.

He's the best and i didn't really expect anything other then what i saw last night.

What a player. Thought he was going to beat us on his own. They interviewed him over here this morning and he sounds like a really fair, sensible and nice bloke. Great flagship player for the game. Awesome watching him last night.

Dare i say it....but...is it Ackland time?

Hammer is still very raw and won't offer much improvement to what we already have got going. Cloke + Ackland worked ok together early last year.

Not at all. Cox was just too strong for both our boys last night. - was surprised at how easily he out-muscled Clokey though! I'm more concerned about the spanking they got against the young crows rucks last week. :(

Kruze is but a boy and has kgs of muscle to put on. A fit Hampson is a must as he'll always be in the contest due to his freakish vertical leap.

I know he was quieter in the middle of the game but how does Jay Clark, of the Herald Sun, leave him out of the votes?

You seem to have missed the "at this stage in his career bit";) Who knows what the future holds?

Hammer has a great verical leap, has fantastic athletic ability and can tap with both hands, but I don't think that you can really say that at this stage in his career that he is great around the ground or up forward for us yet.

If they stay injury free you would expect that Kreuzer would be the better around the ground and up forward ruck with Hammer being the better tap ruckman. They should compliment eachother well:thumbsu:

That is personal opinion of course and you could be right, perhaps Hammer's strength is his around the ground work. From what I have seen of him in the Ants and at senior level I don't think so, but it is all about perceptions and opinions:)

Importantly for us they are both great prospects with great scope for improvement:thumbsu:

yep cox was unbelievable, has redefined the role of a ruckman and is the benchmark for the rest of the afl ruckmans,

Looking ahead to brisbane......how does everyone think cloke and kreuzer will go against charman and leunberger? (however you spell it)

Personally, I dont think we need any changes, however im a bit worried of the thought of charman against kreuzer.....his an angry, physical man that charman could really dominate kreuzer with his body work. Cloke can match it with him though.

Kreuzer v leunberger should be a great contest, 2 young guns going at it:thumbsu: should be interesting

I agree that Hampson will probably be the tap ruckmen and kreuze will be the forward come ruckmen.
