Just thought I might offer some info on the little WA midfielder Brabazon,
played 19 games for claremont colts and 2 in the ressies, kicked 19 goals at colt level and was named ruck-rover in the WAFL Colts team of the year. He won both the Jack Clarke Medal and the coaches award for best colts player. Didn't make the Draft camp, but at the State screening got 15 in the beep test.

so we have drafted 3 midfielders, Interesting. Kristin Thornton and
Matthew Laidlaw look like really fast kids, Thornton 14.6 on the beep test, That is bloody hard to do, I have ran a beep test before in this year and got a 12.5, Could not imagine the 14.6

Thanks Doog, our recruiting staff tend to look outside the square at the end of draft, much like St Kilda.

He sounds rather interesting.

I played with Braba down in Albany in 2002. VERY good junior, has great football smarts, just reads the play beautifully. He was in the younger brigade the year I played with him but you wouldn't know it.

Is quite small and from what I saw when I saw him this year probably doesn't have the body for the AFL yet but should be a good player when he does.

It would be quite hard for him i think, i am pretty sure(if my memory is right) that he was a mad keen WCE fan, now drafted to the side that beat us in the GF:)

Good luck to him and hope you guys have picked a winner!

LOL - Cheers EKA. I guess now he can watch the GF and cheer for the winning team. ;)

So is it just body size that caused him to be seen as such a roughy (to the point that the AFL site still doesn't have a profile on him)? He sounds as if he has the talent... at 6' and 70kg, he wouldn't have starred at that level simply by being bigger than most kids.

Sounds promising, but (like the others) one to put on the shelf until 2007.

Cheers mate. Is he AFL-ready, do you think? The Jack Clarke Medal... is that the competition wide award, or the club best and fairest?

The Jack Clarke is competition wide. came second in the clubs b&f behind the colts captain who also is a good player.
braba's a good young player. great stamina, played colts and then the second half of the reserves match on a couple occasions.

very commited bloke, is always eager for pre season training and i think will be a very good player eventually, is a an all round solid footballer.
