I'm not trolling your board but I was surprised to hear Ryan Crowley's name called out in yesterday's game. Even more surprised when I heard he kicked three in his debut. This guys has been drafted late, dumped, re-drafted as a rookie and then debuted with 3 goals.
Did the Dockers rate Crowley as a player talented enough to kick 3 goals  in his debut against the Cats on their own dunghill?
Why was he delisted from the club and who did he replace on the senior list?
It's a great football story and at least you got something of note from the McPhee trade.

Happy was treated poorly after the saints game. Should have been given another opportunity considering his form with soufs under Dimmer.

Happy should be considered before DJ & Lord Bryron for a recall this week.

As for Second Chance Crowley his development has largely been guided by Peter German. To the credit of the young man he has worked hard and shown his stuff at wafl level and thoroughly deserves his chance.

And boy hasn't he taken his chance!! As For Johnno wa svery unlucky to be dropped after Colon Would game. Made way for Supermuir.

I saw him after the hawks game leaving the ground was not happy being left out of the Hawks game!! It showed on Sat.

I think Crowley was like a lot of others when he was drafted to Freo, came here for the ride and thought it would be easy peasy.I think listening to him on tele the other night it was a real kick in the a&$e to him when he was delisted.
His debut was very good but I hope he doesn't start to read to much into the press and get a swelled head. One good game does not make for being a champion. But to the kid well played.

I think we can't get ahead of ourselves with Ryan...yes, his disposal was good on goal in kicking 3 goals, but he only touched the ball 6 times over the whole game, not really good enough for a HFF/Wing. He's been getting over 25 touches a game for Subi over the last month as a loose man in defence/midfielder, I'd like to see him get a chance further upfield, but I doubt it will happen.

I'm being a bit harsh on a kid who has only played the 1 game, but just stating the facts that 6 touches won't keep him in the side for long, unless he's kicking 2-3 goals a game. Saying all that, it was a solid debut though...congrats!

I didn't think he was on the ground that long though was he?? So 6 touches and 3 goals for a midfielder/forward was pretty good!

Rising Star?? Or is he ineligible?

I couldn't care if he only got three touches a week, as long they're all goals I'm happy. He had a great game last week, he just needs to keep it up this week and maintain the attitude that lead him to his debut in the first place. Though he's played one match he can't settle back and think that he has made it.
Bring on Brisbane!!
