I must admit that I never saw him play much for the Swans. He was injured so often, and I was still bitter about not being able to trade up to draft him.

Now that he has finally arrived at Adelaide, can anyone please tell me if he did show anything at Sydney? Did he have any good games, and start to fulfil his potential? Or is it still just potential?

Thanks

Ryan's first season up in Sydney was interrupted by injury (can't remember whether it was knee or shoulder) which pretty much ruled out that year. The next year, 2000, he was fit for the start of the season, playing up forward and made some good contributions right from the first game. He's pretty strong mark, with his size he can form a presence in the forward line and also help out in the ruck department. In his first few games he kicked 12 odd goals and was looking good but unfortunately was injured again, pretty sure it was his shoulder. After he never really made it back into the lineup on a regular basis.

He's a good player when fit though it is a gamble to draft him beacuase he has had such an injury ridden past. Hopefully, for you guys his injuries are behind him and he can contribute to his ability with Adelaide this year. :)

I agree, we didn't get to see him play very often. But I recall thinking he was (and still is I spose) very talented. I'm pretty sure he kicked 5 goals on debut for the Swans.

I hope he stays injury-free this year and plays really well for the Crows. I must admit this is a touchy subject, I'm still very hurt at the Swan's trading him. :( Miss you Fitzy!
