Stats history: Ryan Hargrave (AFL Tables)

Hargrave suffered another frustrating year riddled with injuries following on from a disappointing 2010 injury affected year. Re-injurring his damaged ankle in the preseaon due to coming back and pushing it too early left him on the sidelines for first 7 weeks of year and was never able to get any momentum throughout season.

With these interuptions he has also lost form and his run and disposal from defence has been shakey, seemingly panicing at times spraying kicks out of backline into opposition hands.

Signing a 3 year, good money contract at the end of 2009 following a year where he made the all australian squad, Hargrave has been unable to recapture that form. Coming into his last contracted year and over the age of 30 it is a make or break year for Hargrave, with a new coach he could also find himself playing for Wiliamstown if form does not warrant selection.

Notable Games:

Round 8 - vs Richmond: First game back was his best providing stability and run from defence.

Ryan Hargrave

Hi, has Ryan commenced pre-season training? Did he end up having any post season surgery? Hoping he returns to his 2009/2010 form as this year was a struggle for him.

Was at the club yesterday and saw him and Cooney arrive at the same time. Seemed to be walking fine but yeah. Not sure what sort of work his doing on the track. on the videos the club has shown so far his been on the bike.

1. he's = he is

2. he's = he has

'his' is the possessive eg his car, his fitness

You're welcome.

Article about Shaggy leading up to his 200th

WESTERN Bulldogs veteran Ryan Hargrave will reach his 200-game milestone in Sydney on Sunday, but his former captain Luke Darcy initially thought he'd be lucky to play even one game.

Darcy has revealed his first impressions of Hargrave were unflattering, believing he was too fragile - both physically and mentally - to cope with League football.

Yow, I'd never heard of the cyst that Shaggy had in his stomach. It was seriously tough and brave of him to complete a ten km run with it.

WESTERN Bulldogs defender Ryan Hargrave is keen to play on in 2013, saying he's confident he can contribute on the field as well as helping the club's fledgling youngsters develop.
Hargrave was a surprise omission for today's crunch encounter against Fremantle at Patersons Stadium, with the 30-year-old among six changes to the side that copped an 84-point hiding at the hands of Essendon last week.

''I'd love to keep playing,'' the 201-game veteran said. ''It's hard to know when your time's up. You never really want it to end.
''I'll probably sit down with the club at the end of the year to see where things are at.
