I was hoping that we'd get Ryley Dunn last year and then still had hope this year and was dissapointed that Freo signed him up several weeks ago- i thought they did it because they considered him part of their future. However it now appears that their reason for signing him up was because they didnt want to lose him in the preseason draft for nothing.

The talk over here in the West is that he is being shopped around and that he is not a happy camper because of this. This is a guy who was touted to go high in a relatively strong draft in 2003 and has sufferred injuries in his 1st couple of yrs and has done nothing due to this. The question is what and how much do we give up for him.

I feel as though pick 7 is too much given the kpp talent at the top end of this draft but a mid 1st round would be reasonable. I dont think we have any players that Freo would be willing to do a straight swap for and i dont they would accept our 2nd rounder for him.

Ricky Nixon (Dunn's Manager) tore Fremantle FC to shreds in the media over the weekend. Labelled them the most unprofessional club in Australia (or words to that effect).

I think Freo would more likely look for a player to sure up a weakness, rather than a draft pick.

I hope we go after him.

Dont worry they have always liked him and are chasing hard, be prepared for Dunn/Pick 10 for Bradley

On the draft board they were saying that Dunn can't even crack the midfield in the WAFL. why would we want another defender?

It sounds like Fiora, Cupido, Botlon, McVeigh, Watts. Just because they were a high draft pick, and were good as a junior, people value them. When they're just not good enough.

If Dunn can't get into Freo's side, we don't want him.

I agree whole-heartedly. Forget about what pick they were.....when players are drafted the slate should be wiped clean. If Dunn is performing crap in the WAFL, I can't see him suddenly returning to be the tenth best player from that draft. Adelaide supporters are the worst, expecting a top 10 pick for Watts purely because he was a high draft pick.

Dunn has been riddled with injuries in his first two seasons.
He is at a club that has shocking player development. To me these are the reasons for his non impact. Not lack of ability or mental attitude. If his body stands up I really think he could be a player and would love to see him in the black and red.

he's was a good player at tac cup level, but he was a hell of a lot bigger bodied than the majority of players in the tac cup when he was drafted. He doesn't have any stand out features besides his attack on the footy. We don't need him. And wood b giving up to much to get him.

He can kick the ball a country mile and was in the top 10 at draft camp for that year for pace over 20 metres. So his attack on the footy isnt his only attribute. I wouldnt give our top pick for him but a late first round (which we should secure from Ted) would be reasonable.

maybe Freo should start loaning out their players in the first three years like in the EPL. So they have teams look after player development for them. Then when they fulfill their potential they can come back. That way they can save all the picks they give away trying to get players they've dumped back!
