Crikey the cops were practicing their baton techniques in the days leading up to the protest. Significant amounts of capsicum like chemicals were available to disperse protestors. The cops were individually unrecognisable due to full body armour and helmets.
Surely this all seems a bity heavy handed. Shouldn't they at least wear some sort of identifier so there is a slight possibility that they will be accountable for their actions.
