Wooden spooners the past two seasons, the Gumbies struggles continue in S27. The mid-season additions of Barrybran and haydo offer some hope for the future, as does the consistent performance of rookie snozulu, but too much was left to the few again, as DERO, Jivlain, StFly and sometimes BRAB battled away against the odds.

The Gumbies hit Post Reply the fewest times of any club throughout S27, averaging only 168 ppw. To put this into perspective, even last season's outfit averaged over 245 posts.In fact in every category, they performed worse than last season. The only saving grace was that another team dropped their rating so much, they rival the Gumbies for mediocrity, making the wooden spoon a tight battle.

NEEDS: Relevance. Hopefully, the tandem of haydo and Barrybran produces a chemistry that a succession of Gumby skippers has failed to engender, and inspires some of the bit-part posters to jump on the bandwagon.

RANKING: Bottom 2

The East Side Hawks were in danger of being decimated by NwO 3.0, but retained a strong core of Agent93, The Jesus and Loonerty, and added league workhorse and beez wannabe NaturalDisaster. A solid, steady leadership ensured that the Hawks ,maintained good posting numbers and poster numbers.

They ranked 6th in posting numbers, a similar ranking to last season albeit almost 100 ppw worse, and rose to =3rd for average posters/week, = 4th for the number of players who posted during the season, and =3rd for the number of posters who averaged > 5 ppw. This shows a good level of interest from their entire list, borne out by the fact that they had the lowest amount of inactive posters (<5 ppw) with 13.

The factors keeping the Hawks to a mid-table ranking were a dearth of bulk posters. None averaged over 50 ppw, and only 5 hit an average of 20, so their total post numbers were only ranked 6th, and they only outposted the opposition in 8 games.

NEEDS: Hold that falling star. The Hawks have a high number of veterans, and whilst they have stayed interested enough to post, the likes of spookism, The Half Back and Golumless are still the backbone of the club. Holding on to them, and the current core of por_please_ya, Drunkgoliath and rookie sensation Ardent Eagle, is vital to their long-term health. A few rookies to develop wouldn't go astray, either.

GutsyBug came to the club in Season 19 IIRC. When was the last time he posted Ant Bear ?

He’s got the survivorship of Ben Kinnear that bloke.
