I remember reading a while ago that Geelong is only paying 92% or was it 94% of the salary cap to help get them out of their debt was this true, and is it still the case? Because you don't hear much about it if it is.

I thought it was 96% but some big contracts are expiring Graham (500k) and Ricco (390k) so should be plenty of room.

You have to take into account the vets list and only counting 50% of the salary towards the cap so we wont be getting that much relief.

Also, 60% of whatever Ronnie was on disappears too, I think. I'm pretty sure we were still paying for him this year.

Spriggs and Rahilly are both overpaid as well. Probably rid ourselves of another 400k there if rumours on what the players earn are to be believed.

(500+390) - (250+250) = 390k / 2 = 195k saving. Graham wasnt veteran listed this year was he? So its a further 125k saving if he wasnt veteran listed.

Yeh i think the addy said Rahilly was on 230k and Spriggs on 180k but cant remember exactly.

Not 100% sure on who is on the veterans list atm. We have 4 rookies so there is space for 2 veterans so I'd assume both Graham and Riccardi are on the list but I don't know.

Last I heard, which was a while ago, we were about mid-ay between min and max salary cap levels. It's something that Brian Cook has talked about as neeedingto be managed very, very carefully so that we don't need to put on a firesale in the future.
