Salary Cap.

I wonder how you feel about the Salary Cap and especially the amounts being paid to players. Ric Charlesworth had a very good article in the weekend paper about the obscenity of the salaries paid to sportsmen, his argument seemed to me to be that since TV was paying these phenomenal amounts to sports for television rights. That the money should be used to keep the lifeblood of sports viable whilst giving the elite players a good living and not obscene salaries.
After all half the teams in the AFL are in dire trouble because they have try and meet the salary demands, that is partially why Fitzroy went under.

Yeah, I agree. I said a long time ago, that rising player payment demands were sure to ruin the game (more than as is) if not kept in check.

Some club's won't be able to keep up with payments. If it continues, it might take a while, but surely in the end, one of the more popularly supported clubs would eventually become under the pump.

English Footy is going the same way with Chelsea losing already this season £11 million, there catering is worse than we copped at the Western Oval, this truelly third world stuff.
Some clubs here have lost up to £30-40 million in the last financial year.
