Sampi will be delisted on monday by the eagles,do you think we should pick him up in the psd?.

Depends who else is available of course, but I am willing to throw him a lifeline mainly because he has been suffering depression.

With Richmond's off field support and help from our other young aboriginal players our environment could allow him to sought his emotions out a little better.

Don't underrate how severely depression can impact your life, let alone your ability to play a sport that requires such concentration and commitment.
 
why the hell would need more small forwards!? it's the only area we have comprehensively covered. collard seems the best candidate to me, he's a solid bloke, turn him into a midfielder who kicks goals. had massive wraps on him and young enough to turn his attitude around.

so why would we then recruit a fella plagued by the illness:confused:...err lets wish him all the best and cast our attention elsewhere
 
i'm probably on the no side - but it would really depend on a fitness test on the guy, he refused one at the eagles which either suggest he didn't want the results coming out publically and burying his chances of playing elsewhere (ala Whitnall) or he just decided not to waste west coasts time - as he wants to leave.

apparently has some family in melbourne - and his goal kick per game ratio is good at 95 in 78 games - or something like that.

we appear to have a good lot of small forwards with pets and brown, but we really need a "pressure" forward - and an x factor fella - i don't know if this guy is the answer though - i hope he does find a new home, as i am very interested to see if this guy can turn it around - was pick 6 back in 2001 and showed a lot in his early seasons - as his goal kicking record proves.

with our new aboriginal facilities,tambling's obvious leadership with aboriginal players & the possible (hopeful) arrival of sheedy down the track - richmond could be he's best chance to actually getting his game back.

At this stage, i'd take either Rutten or Fraser.

and if CUZ is in the PSD, it's a no brainer - CUZ no 1 PSD.

I love how these stupid journalists, say Richmond rule out Cousins, if you read the actual article, Miller says it's irrelvant to talk about cousins until the AFL allow him to be in the draft.
 
Sampi is crap...one trick pony who already did his one trick three years ago. So naturally we'll probably pick him up.:mad:

Sampi is still slow, fat and from W.A so I can see the similarities Banik Stations. Why if someone makes a comparison and they are aboriginal do co*# suckers like you have to turn it into a racial thing? pull your head in you goose.
 
I think we should really consider picking Sampi as he sounds as if he has overcome some problems. Why not give such a talent another chance. Tell me that any player wouldn'[t find it difficult to overcome their best friends death
 
i reckon it's worth a punt...before the depression thing, Sampi was a gun player in the mould of Phil Matera. If he's willing to play for a minimum wage, which apparently is only 10gs more than a third or fourth round pick, i say WHY NOT?!?!

IF not Ashley Blurton, try Jeremy Humm, Todd Breman, Steven Jackson ............ will we ever learn. Discards from West Coast are just that...discrads. And they are discrads for a reason.

Just checked on his AFL career stats...
6 years
No season averaged more than 10 disposals in a match
Never averaged more than 1.5 goals per game
I really can't see who we would drop to give him a game!
So nup for me.
