I have been really impressed by Sampi in the two Wiz Cup games. His touch is superb and he seems in really good form considering he has had an interrupted pre-season. Does anyone else get the feeling this could be a very good season for Ashley? Bloody brilliant super goal on Saturday and his two others were all class.

He's on fire atm, hopefully he can maintain the form. I've always felt that Samps isn't 'just' a small forward- he's just needed the fitness to be able to get the ball more often.

I'd like to see him push up the field and get more possessions like he did against the pies- obviously he's lethal anywhere in the forward 50, but his 'hurt factor' in general play is phenomenal- He reads the play beautifully, just has outstanding vision and anticipation, and flawless skills.

Next to Judd, I'd rather see Samps with the ball more than any other eagle player- you always know he'll make his disposals count.

Played almost 50 games, turned 21 and a couple of pre seasons under the belt.

All good reasons to expect this No 6 draft pick to be more consistant this year

Can't wait

Sampi's form (and others) means we're less reliant on matera up forward.

He's a joy to watch when he's on song and IMO he's as highly skilled as anyone in the game.

An outstanding talent & the type of player that brings people through the turnstiles.Sampi & Matera will prove a handful for opposition defences this year complimenting the likes of McDougall,Gardiner,Hansen & co.As said earlier,Sampi playing in the midfield is a mouth watering option for Woosha, but its gonna be hard to break into the centre with the amount of talent at their disposal. But its a nice predicament to be in!

If I remember correctly, he started 2004 on fire aswell, before fading away as the season went on. I'm not yet convinced he has the fitness base to run out an entire season in a consistent manner. Has freaky skills, and there is no reason he can't play a similar role to and be rated as highly as Wells is.

watching sampi was like watching Chris Lewis in his much talked about purple patch lasting into the finals in 1990 and his cameos in the years before. Gee Samps great to watch and would be in the top 10 players in the afl that you go to watch

while he has been in sparkling form IMO it not that new. he has shown signs of his playing prowess in the past. he needs to apply himself in the real season for 22+ weeks.

Sampi looked dangerous all game & handled himself extremely well in the midfield. If he could play out the 22 with consistent form he'll add yet another dimension to our midfield.

He's been in everything lately his commitment to the contests has been execeptional aswell

Im just repeating everyone but if he can do it consistently then he is gonna be a dynamite player. All good and well doing it in the Wiz Cup but he needs to bring into the season and keep it going all year long.

Would love to see him kick 50+ this year, he is certainly capable and I want him as close to goals as possible because our midfield is stacked as it is!

I havn't seen anyone else comment on it,but if you watch the wizzer derby closely he absolutely cannons into Dion"I ate Roger Hayden"Woods twice in the game. He's got the hardness about him that other players don't expect.Dions stats certainly reflected that he felt it.Against Collingwood he was all class, set up the game for us,hopefully he moves from "cameo roles" into being a 22 game(or longer :) )star.
