Sampi's Goal

What did we all think of his mid-air soccer style goal at the Subiaco end (I think in the 3rd quarter?). Would have to be in the running for one of the goals of the year, given the conditions, pressure and difficulty.

Thought there was a bit more luck on Sampi's part than anything. He came damn close to hitting the post.
Embley should get the credit for that goal - you could almost see his mind ticking over before he grubbed it along the ground in front of Sampi.

I would've though the second goal was a hunder times better than his first????


The first was a very simple goal made difficult. I hardly think the guys deciding the goal of the year, would consider giving it to someone who was unmarked, 5 metres from the goal right in front??

I thought the best part of that goal was Embley's pass. Hard against the boundary line under pressure, he grubs it along the ground with just the right amount of speed for Samps to run onto. He easily could have come up short with the waterlogged ball and field or he could have kicked it too far, but it was perfectly weighted!

Samps second goal was a pearler!
