In the past, a few threads have been sidetracked into discussions about bad grammar, mixed metaphors, et cetera (not 'ecksetra'). Doss in particular loves a good mixed metaphor, so for a bit of a laugh, throw anything you see or hear into this thread so we can all enjoy them. I did check if something like this already existed, but no luck finding one, so here we go!

I will start off with Mark Waugh reporting on Australia's series win against the West Indies, describing it in relation to the upcoming Ashes as 'ironing out the cobwebs'.

I used to think the saying "In like Flynn" was "In like Flynt" as in Larry Flynt the Hustler magazine dude. Was pretty embarrassed when I got called out on that one - not only was I wrong I was exposed as an avid pornography fan after going into a long explanation of why it made sense that a man who was head of a smut empire would get plenty of action lol

God I hated that show but I do recall one of his other ones was "supposably".

The problem was that everyone watched it and picked up on these stupid phrases. Over time, people forgot that the sayings originated from the show and started using them seriously. :p
