In their prospectus each year, Champion Data publish as wider range of stats for the new draftees as with AFL players. This prompted me to think of whether they also apply their AFL Rankings (Supercoach Points) to all of the junior competitions.

I recently contacted Champion Data, asking whether they do, and whether they were planning on popping these rankings into the new prospectus.

I got an email back from Glenn Luff who replied, "Yes, there will be something like that in the book".

I'm looking forward to it, it should take a lot of the guesswork out of picking the bench and even starting 22.

It's a book published by Champion Data each year comprising the widest range of statistics you will find. It features a profile for every player on an AFL list and their stats over the last 5 years. It also has a 3-4 page in-depth statistical analysis of every team.

Add to this the "Fantasy Freako's" input advising all to players on the rise and which new draftees to look at and a few model teams, the Freako's input is however in a dream team format (or at least has been for the last two years, this may change to SC).

At the start of the book there is also Champion Data's team of the year which is based on their Official AFL Rankings (or Supercoach points) and a few special articles (for example last year they had a highly interesting article on betting appropriately, using numbers).

In short, it is a book well worth buying if you're interested in AFL Stats and keen on your fantasy competitions, especially with the possible inclusion of SC points for newly drafted players as I mentioned above.
