gday i see that scorpion is paying $15 for the melbourne cup. does anyone have any stats on its performances and does it have a chance in the big 1.

He's trained by Aiden O'Brien & has won 3 Gp 1's.
Last start he ran 2nd to Yeats in the Irish St Leger,just run down after leading.
Can race forward which will help but he does have 58.5 kg, which is plenty of weight considering MD got 58 when she'd already won 2.

I think he carried 58 or 59 in that last run against Yeats coming back from a couple of weeks off and it was a 2 mile race aswell. also he's a very strong type

Yep but they all did,it was set weights.
The Cup is a handicap so he'll be giving them all weight

so its a bit of a muscle truck. does it have the speed to go with the likes of miss finland for the whole 3200 and if its dry will that work againts him or in his favour. im just really curious because it seems to be coming in alot at the moment and im wondering how short he might be when the race starts.
