Before my question, I told you so.

Now, this season has he played a good game when we have played poorly?

He is a downhill skier who has to go. This football club has to look towards the future and he should play no part.

Some won't agree and call me an idiot or some other name but watching todays game and the majority of the season, he's been piss poor.

Drop never to be seen again. Horrible. One good game in a season is not enough to hold a spot. To get outmarked time after time by a bloke almost a foot smaller than you is not on.

Ridiculous that he was playing in the first place, when we have a 19 year old rising star who was always going to play as well if not better than, in the exact same position

Other than our woeful set shot goal kicking he was the worst thing running around out there. Very good spare defender. Very terrible when needed to shut someone down. Just an awful decision to give him the gold pass.

Last week he made the same costly errors but made up for them. This week he had those same errors but failed to make up for them. He is still a more than handy player but Davis has to come in for him next week.

Yep I'm over him. Pop Peevens didn't someone tag him as? He's a pretty good mark but besides that. And to think Phil was running around in the SANFL. He could've learnt something tonight at least.

Bock was even worse :o :(

the truth is that Scotty has only played one good game this year (last week).....

My concern has always been his lack of strength and composure in 1+1 marking contests, this is why we see him grab the jumper on many occassions

if the selection decision is between Davis or Stevens, Davis should be selected on every occassion

What is clear is that the form of Davis is better than Bock and Stevens. Will they make the hard call this week.

Davis would have smashed Westoff into submission. Tonight it looked like Westoff could win a Brownlow.

Phil Harper said during the week that Scott Stevens had played 2 of his best games for the club in the last two weeks. I don't see Stevens getting dropped this week. It is a shame Davis didn't have a big impact for North though.

they wont drop Bock and given that they have not dropped stevo all year I would say unfortunately he has some team security

Cost us critical momentum early in the game and we never really recovered. Got to cut as many of those types out of your side as you can.

Simply cannot play him ahead of Davis for the rest of the year. Philthy has his whole year ahead of him, and Bock will improve with more games. Stevens has had his deficiencies highlighted time and time again, he's the type of player we have to move on from for us to be a serious threat.

Throw Symes into that category too, can't believe how highly people rate him.

Agree 100%

Was ****ing shithouse tonight - Armstrong was the only worse player out there. At least 4 clangers in the first half and got pantsed by JUSTIN WESTHOFF.

Dropping Phil Davis looks pretty ****ing clever right now doesn't it Neil Craig? :thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:

Stevens was poor tonight no doubt but his last three weeks have been very good. In the last two season he has been consitently good as well.

To say he has played one good game this year is silly.

Now I am happy for Davis to come in for Stevens but to say we should get rid of him from the list is just plain dumb.

I guess we could have a list of everyone under 26 but I don't think that's too clever.

Stevens' supposed "flexibility" as a swing man is way overrated. He has only ever really played a handful of ok games in attack. Also, he's playing one of the easiest roles on the field as the loose third tall. It's the role that has made an extremely average footballer like Nick Maxwell seem like a decent AFL player. Give me Davis over Stevens any day. Sick and tired of the turnovers and soft frees he gives away. Even in his good game last week he still cost us 2-3 goals.

Stevens is good as a loose man in defence but when he actually has to defend a man he is woeful. Got outmarked by Ebert time and time again (good thing we kept himin ahead of Davis cause he can play well on small forwards as well) Cannot believe we dropped Davis and kept him in. Defence looked shaky all night. Disgraceful decision by the selection committee.

Matchday coaching was shocking. When we couldn't buy a goal, any good reason why Porps was on the full back line

Said this many times but the stevens protection people shoot it down.. He plays 1 or 2 good games (which are really just ok games, but because he's normally poor these games are called excellent) and then he's great again apparently.. 1 or 2 good games here and there doesn't make a bloody good player or keeper! And at his age it still happens over and over.. I can't handle watching 1 more turnover of his or "oh my god what am i gonna do in this situation" moment.. Teams with players of this standard will not get you to the point of premierships, it's reality..

Not thinking straight at the moment... but I'd like to say that 'Scott Steven's is the biggest tease since Winnie Cooper from the Wonder Years!

Why on gods earth was he our designated kicker??? I'm happy for Davis to come back into the side... but I think our issues tonight go well beyond Scott Steven's form. At the end of the day Taylor Walker & Ricky Henderson lost it for us tonight... their kicking on goal was a cruel joke! That said they played well aside from this.

We've recruited some good young defenders in Davis, Talia, Young and Thompson. Sellar and McKernan might be able to play there but don't get much of a chance to prove themselves in this area. Otten will be back in next year and slots beautifully into the third running tall role. We have to back this crop of youngsters in and move Stevens on.
