a must-listen is this sunday’s southern fm ‘ammo footy show’ featuring the redoubtable ‘scribe’. scribe will need all his legal skills to handle the forensic cross examination by tom brain, the ammos answer to robert richter. answers to the following quandaries will hopefully be found:

- why does an intelligent well educated man post on big footy?
- will he ever reach the illustrious standards of tom brain as an ‘amateur
footballer’ correspondent?
- can steve mccarthy umpire or is he just another short-sighted failed
footballer with a whistle and no idea?

9.30.am southern fm to hear two hung-over ammo officials and an intellectual match wits.

Better start researching my answers right about now. :D

I was listening to this learned show several years back and swear the hosts were still legless and taking it in turns to have a hurl in the background. I could be wrong but the sounds of about a dozen Chris Mews could be heard off-mic. Astonishing community radio!

No, Tommy Brain and hangovers? Couldn't be possible, Tom is a tea man!

hmm! i can understand to brownish colour, cos some like tea milkless. i can understand the brew in a glass, cos some take their tea in a glass. but the froth confuses me. never seen tea with a frothy top.:D

Teh tarik. Tea poured on condensed milk, then poured between cups several times to generate the froth.

Fell in love with the stuff in Malaysia. Hits the spot after exertion in the heat. Tastes good and you get an instant sugar/caffeine rush.

I must ask Tommy where he gets his.

a previous guest tells me there are quite a few cups of tea quaffed with the southern boys between the two shows. better take a taxi scribe;)

perhaps (if tom brain has worked out how to manage the panel yet:p) talkback could be arranged so some of the trinity brigade could interrogate or, even better, bring out some skeletons.

with all this publicity it should be a ratings winner.

Their signal isn't strong enough for me to pick it up in my area and I won't be at home to stream it so I'd be interested the read how F.C performs.

u.m! average footballer; trinity initially then reds when couldn’t get a game at o.t; ‘b’ section scribe; o.i & u.b now favs for ‘b’ flag in tight comp; off to see hawks play (they're g a w n :)). no questions about how he thought ammo comp was travelling; what changes he’d like to see or, most importantly, why such an erudite, articulate gent slums it with the great unwashed on the ammo section of 'big footy'

seriously, didn't learn much that we didn't know but it was an interesting conversation - made for enjoyable listening.:thumbsu:

Glad you enjoyed it, and your summary was pretty much spot on. Only ever been an average plodder, only getting slower now! :D

Reckon the boys gave me a bit of stick about the move over to Fitzroy from OT, and I think we got a little bogged down in that stuff, and should've moved on a bit quicker.

Would've been good to have a chat about the state of the VAFA as a whole, but maybe if they invite me back on again, we can have a more in-depth discussion about matters more relevant to the whole competition.

I'd certainly be happy to do so, and it's easier to have a chat with those guys than Scatter on Sunday nights simply as the timing is a bit better (i.e. Sunday morning):thumbsu:
