Sean Dempster will take the nest step in 2006.
Played in a Grand Final in 2005 with already a premiership medallion.
One of the heros of the Final playing on some good West Coast players.

Should take the next step in 2006 and looks to be a very fine backmen for the Swans

I'm hoping he will be a very fine winger. He was moved into the midfield in a tagging role later on last season which would suggest he is being groomed for a role in the midfield rotation.
I would love to see his booming kick used further up the field.
The only reason I can't see this happening is if Kennelly doesn't return to the Swans or doesn't cope well with the death of his Dad.

yeah he had a good year , although not outstanding he didnt too much wrong! should be a better players next year with a bit of experience.

he reminds be a bit of ryan griffen similar type players

he had a good year although not outstanding. he should take the next step next year and fill a midfield/half back role. 2005 can only better his career with valuable expereince!

he sort of reminds me of the bulldogs ryan griffen and hes is also quite deceivinlgy fast

I'll go out on a limb and say he is the best youngster coming through at the club.

I'll call a 'youngster' one who is 22 or younger, and hasn't yet played 50 games. That includes McVeigh, Willoughby, Malceski, Erickson, Laidlaw, Dempster, Roberts-Thomson, Moore, Brabazon, Schmidt, Vogels, Grundy, Bevan, Davis and Shaw.

Out of that group, Dempster ranks somewhere between second and fourth in my esteem. I have very high hopes for Malceski - it's rare for me to be bullish about a bloke who has only played five games, but I see him as a future Swans captain. I don't see that in Dempster, although I think he's a very talented, long-term player. I'm leaning towards installing LRT ahead of him at this stage (perhaps a tad unfair as a comparison, though, since LRT barely qualifies under my criteria, having played 48 games). The other player I'm considering at this stage is Vogels, but I'd put Dempster just ahead of him at this stage.

Right now he is ahead of McVeigh, Bevan and Moore - that much is clear. It's hard to say with the rest, since none of them have played so much as one game. One thing is sure - if Dempster only turns out to be the sixth or seventh best player of the current crop, we're in good shape three years down the track. Not bad when we've happily traded away half of our top 40 draft picks in the past four seasons.

Vogels is 23 or 24! I have only seen this Malceski bloke once to be honest and i dont think he even got more than 20 minutes on the pitch. With Maxfield gone you would think he would get more opportunities to play. At least i'm hoping. I'm not too sure what to make of all the youngsters as i havent seen them all play. I get the feeling McVeigh could be at the crossroads already, although i think i am wrong on that account, he'll be given more opportunities in 2006, much like Malceski
