Judging by what I saw at pre training today, Rus is on target to play round 1 of the VFL next week.

He is important to our structure, as shown by the last time we were competitive against top teams (2007 finals series).

Put simply, he straightens us up, and he will take the best defender off Rocca, Anthony and Cloke each week.

But this is all if's, because it will all come down to his fitness, and at the moment we are all crossing our fingers/toes etc for him this year.

I Actually agree mostly with this post bar the statement we are an Average team ofcourse.
For mine Rusling when fit has shown what he can do, no backman in the league can go with him on the lead and he does not have to play close to goal to be effective either.
He would make an ideal lead up FF or CHF and offers more than our other fringe forwards.
I also beleive he has the potential to be better than Cloke too but just needs a bit of luck and more experience on the big stage, but i wouldnt be underestimating his ability to be proved a very very good player in time.

If fit and if he can stave off further injury Rusling is Fevola squared.

Only the IF is a worry.
He could give us the added dimension to take us from a contender to a winner.
My opinion only but................Go Rus.
