Analysis Second Half Fade Outs

Appears to have been a trend this year. Unable to run out games with the opposition pulling away in the second half.

What are the causes and how to we change this?

It'll take time.

We traded out our best runners, and now we can't run out games. The kids need to build up their tanks and we probably need to prioritise giving experience to Rantall.

Lots of young kids in the 22 combined with two defenders going off the ground with head knocks.

North got on top for a patch in the first half of the third quarter but we rallied from there and got three goals back. Apart from that we controlled the game in the second half even if we didnt win it.
We’ve also faded out in other games. Brisbane, Gold Coast and Essendon. We seem to run out of puff or struggle to find momentum. Young players are certainly a factor but is there more to it?

Our zone sucks and gets picked apart once a bit of heat goes out of the game and once the other team has adjusted to exploit it.

I think we go into games with pretty strong grasps of what they (the opponent) try to do, and we're usually pretty good at mitigating that. We've been good at that for a while.

However, teams have an easier time adjusting to us now it seems. They quite easily exploit our zone by maintaining possession with a mark-heavy game in the back half waiting for an opening, and they find ways to take advantage of match-ups. Our in-game adjustments are just not flash at all

Zoning what bullshit
watching the replay there was a passage of play along the boundary line with Mayne running along side a North guy with
his arms out like a landing guy on a aircraft carrier he ran about 20 meters then kicked it forward
all he had to do was tackle and the ball and him would've gone out and stayed in our 50

As for the fade out yep probably young bodies and more pressure and adjustments from the opposition
which you don't get in match sim
