Actually, he did play a senior game in the wiz cup.

Pagan wanted to give everyone a go this year. Carlos was next in line right before injury.

saw him play against Geelong in the wizzard cup and while he did okay he definitely looked out of his depth playing AFL.

However, he seemed to come on in leaps and bounds in the VFL and kicked a bag of 7 goals in a game, and 4 or 5 in another.
He was promoted off the Rookie list just 2 weeks before the stress fractures and would definitely got a game had he not been injured.

Nah Nolliag, the thieves are after the wee bro, Aisake. This kid is taler than Setanta. A cracking footballer and hurler for his age, 'twould be a pity if you fellas poached him as well.

However, on the basis of Sean Óg's contribution yesterday, they could decide to bring all three out.

At 27 Sean is far too old for Carlton. By the time he spends a year or two in the VFL he will be hitting veteran stage before you would even consider him for a game in the seniors.

As for big Carlos i don't the hybrid game is suited to players over 6'5. Lets hope he develops his game even further next year at Carlton. It's certainly exciting to have him coming through the ranks. Lets not get too impatient with him though. I think you will find that he will still spend the majority of his time in the VFL next year and be ready to make an impression in senior football in 2006. He will still only be 22-23.

Carlton have admitted to keeping and eye on sean and are almost certain to draft the youngest as their international rookie. Sean whilst 27 yo would be a natural centre half back and could be offered a one year contract. Given we are still recovering from black fridays penalties dont be suprised by anything.

A one year contract wouldn't be enough to make him move to the other side of the world. If we did decide to draft Sean Og then we have to persist with him for a couple of years. Don't worry too much about his age. Remember they don't tackle in Gaelic footy, so he would have a 24-25 year old body.

Teams would be stupid to over more than 2 year contracts on anthing but superstars these days. Look at the mess we are in because of long contracts. Whitnal is paid a fortune for little output because of past glories. The one year contract isnt what would tempt him it would be the fact that he could earn an income, have a crack at a professional sport and more importantly join his brother. If he was toprove himself hed know a longer more lucrative contract would await. The chance to play with his brother / brothers and create history would be the deciding factor I suspect.

Well, according to the papers here about 1-2 weeks ago, it was Sean, not the younger brother they are after.
And if i was a Carlton fan, I would hope it was Sean cos that Aiske guy is the worst of them from what I have seen.

I know his name is a bit tricky to spell, but surely you can make a better fist of it than that.

Injury permitting, I fully expect Setanta to play at least 1/2 a dozen games next season. He was doing very well in the VFL before his stress fractures.

Sean, from what I saw in the International Rules Series, is very strong and has a good attack on the ball. Tall, agile and can run like the wind.
Should be given a try with you guys.

And from what I saw of him was inspiring.
When he and Kirk ran into each other, you would think Kirk would knock him over but sean run all over him.

VERY TALENTED

fairly certian that it was satenta that bowled kirky over. not sean.

apparently setanta didn't do all that much else, other than help set up an over, and kick a point himself.

sean dominated by the sounds
