Serhat temel

would have thought many suggestions here couldn't be further from the truth - serhat temel is a very keen essendon supporter and signed with bendigo bombers in the hope that hard training and playing under the bombers nose will get him drafted to essendon at seasons end. i believe he is actually very determined.

Temel needs to work on his endurance.

Endurance tests at the State Screening Camp were in the lowest 2% ever recorded.

Saw him play today for Bendigo in a VFL Practice Game at Gosh's Paddock and he did a very good job in the Forward 50 Kicked a Few Goals and Set up a Few. Has a Great Leap and Hands and also a Good Kick

Im pretty surprised that he wasn't at least rookied with his performances at U18 level it would suggest to me that he has fair amount of ability...shame if he has given it away, like others have said...only serves to underline he's not to fussed bout a league career then..Good luck to him whatever:thumbsu:

I'm pretty sure he has signed with Bendigo?

Good season with Bendigo and he might even make the Essendon squad.

He is 100% signed up and ready to play VFL for Bendigo this year!

John Norton provides a quick look at the Bendigo Bombers list for 2010.

...

14. Serhat Temel (18) - recruited from 2009 TAC cup Premiers Calder Cannons. Tall forward with very good hands and excellent goal kicking ability.

Why don't they just change the name from Bendigo to Essendon and be done with it?

Locals don't have the VFL reserves to improve their chances and the VFL senior side is the Essendon reserves plus Cloke, Skipworth and a couple of others.

If it was a proper allignment then the rookies on the Essendon list would be in the VFL reserves like most alligned clubs and the VFL listed players getting a game when it's deserved. Now every Essendon listed player is guaranteed VFL senior football, which isn't what a traditional VFL club should be like.

Bendigo should have taken a leaf out of North Ballarat's book.

If Temel wants to get a chance at AFL level then he should look to the WAFL for some good senior football experience.

On the bolded - it was some crap about the VFL not wanting to hand out another "stand-alone" licence, but letting us run the existing licence as a de facto "stand-alone". We operate under the same rules as your lot - ie no 12/10 rule with AFL/VFL listed players - but have to keep the name. It's ridiculous, but a lot less ridiculous than the Bendigo side which went win-less last year.
The locals you speak of weren't really interested in playing VFL reserves for the $$$, which is less than they'd get playing in the Bendigo league . (The Ressies would have averaged about 3 goals a game over the last 2 years).
