Some bloody serious questions need to be addressed, and some are concerning some big names. Namely Lids and JR8. Both are players with enormous talent and are vital to our success, however, it seems more often than not, that when they are required to step up against opposition that are higher or around our mark, they go missing. Both did sweet FA tonight. Both did poor last week. Only when when we play teams that are below us do they manage to do anything significant. How do the coaches fix this? Whether it be a tag or just sooking about delivery, both need to pull their heads out and start working a tad harder.

I really can't grasp how Lids can get a hard tag all night and not milk at least 1 free kick, shows he's not in the contest, you think Judd or Selwood would allow them-self to be beaten by a hack like that!

I can understand you bagging out Riewoldt, but Lids... really? Sure, he didnt have a great game, but he was certainly far from worst on,

Would help if our guys kicked the ball to Jack and not McPharlin all night. How many times did we kick blind onto his chest  McPharlin just stood there and swallowed cream puffs all night.

You would think that he'd be better this season. But instead, he dishes up this stuff. Doesn't deserve his number on my guernsey.

Just means McPharlin out smarted Riewoldt all night.

Lids had 20 touches and was tagged heavily. Giving Cotchin and Martin free space.

JR8 was the worst and the reason why we lost. Where WAS he in that last quarter?

No wonder he's shouting at his teammates, don't blame Jack, poor disposal inside 50. Dimma said they've been working on that over the summer, don't see any results. Dishes up close wins in the pre-season, dishes up close losses in the real thing. Last year all over again.

Would be interesting to see Jack's output V the top/bottom sides. In his defence, he gets crap delivery and he isn't the fastest bloke so he gets beaten at ground level a bit. How rarely do we pop a short pass to a bloke all on his own inside 50 yet opposing teams seem to do it every week?

Really, kicking the ball 10m to the side McPharlin is standing is not outsmarting your opponent. It's shit disposal and pure luck!

Not on so many occasions.

McPharlin simply read the ball better. Jack was losing the battle all night. Worst of all he wasn't tackling, chasing, pressuring, reinforcing positive attitudes throughout the match.

He didn't even push up the ground and get McPharlin away from the 50 zone. He played a selfish, lazy, insipid game that cost us the match.

As a team, as a whole (& I include our ''elite'' leaders), we still bomb it long to a pack at CHF when under pressure.
When we have time in the clear we find targets fine.
When under the pump it is like London in WWII!

That's a helluva good point!

It also helps if JR8 starts making leads like good forwards do, instead of flying in crowded packs and trying to take mark of the year every week

JR8 doesnt inspire our other forwards to lead hard all night. How many times did Vick (who i gave votes to) stand inside 50 when we had the ball on the HBF? He knows that all we are going to do is chip, chip , chip, and then realises only when we have nothing and bomb that "oh i should run to the pack" Jack, McGuane and Vick played behind all night, and Vick only gets votes coz he was good when the ball was inside 50.

Gee we missed Morris, Chaplin and Conca tonight, and to a lesser extent Kings ferociousness inside 50.

If the entries into Forward 50 were so terrible, then why did Vickery go OK? Answer: Workrate.

Jack is more concerned with throwing his hands up in the air and adding to his highlight reel.

**** this im ****ing cut. Im going to bed and will post when I dont feel like flying over to WA and breaking that little campaigner Ballantynes little shit head face.

3 goals last week vs Reid is a decent effort.
20 disposals against Crowley isn't great but he's not going to be the last guy kept quiet by him.

Jack was poor tonight though.

Averages more against top 4 sides than any other group of teams.

Yeah it's annoying. I can't work out what's up with our forward line, it's just doesn't work.

Can I actually play the I was at the game and this is bullshit card? I think I can right?

Jack played CHF for the majority of the day and worked his arse off, much like round 1. I actually don't think I've seen Jack run for that many contests, normally if his opposition was getting away he'd just jog, instead he worked bloody hard.

The problem was not Jack tonight.

I've noticed that we don't move alot when we have a freekick/mark.... Alot of packs and relying on crumbers to come in and get the run on. We can do that against bottom sides (we did against WB) but, it just won't work against teams like Freo and Collingwood, until we get some better disposals. Most of Cotch's kicks tonight were quick kicks around the body. WE didn't even look most of the time, just hoped we could kick to a contest at least, but Freo had the extra man and instead of Dimma doing something about it, he was probably thinking of another joke he could tell at the end of the game about how he is a dud root.
