shame about ray

Has been very good in the last two weeks against Thompson and then Big Bad Barry today.

The question now is does Ray Hall automatically get the oppositions number forward, with Gaspar horribly out of form and Kellaway undersized against many key forwards?

He should get first crack at Rawlings next week.

I honestly have been Razor's number one basher! I admit it.

I'm more than happy to give him credit, where credit is due. He was good yesterday against Bazzer, and l was APPALLED by Tim Morrissey's votes in the Herald Sun - he gave Barry Hall 1 vote (5th best on ground).

He obviously was watching a different game.

However, although Razor has improved the past couple of weeks, he still needs to grow a brain - he's still a lunatic.

dont get carried away yet. Thompson has been horribly out of form all season and the weather helped Ray Hall out significantly yesterday.

If Ray is going to start holding down key defensive posts, he is going to have to significantly increase his body strength next preseason. At the present moment, he is not yet up to the body on body work (as evidenced yesterday when Hall kicked his 3rd goal)

We shouldn't get too carried away with Hall. The last couple of weeks have been ok but he will get carved up if he becomes our #1 defender. He is suited to picking up the #2/3 forwards. At the same time, he really does lack footy smarts. There were a number of times where he was standing on the wrong side of B Hall allowing him to lead up the middle of the ground as opposed to forcing him to lead to the boundary. Credit where credit is due, he does try...just don't think he will be an answer to our defensive woes.

??? ???

Of course this is the same weather that didn't affect Richo kicking 7.0 straight!

Ray's deserved credit goes back more than the last 2 weeks. He also shut out Ken McGregor and Ben Graham when shifted onto them. On both occasions they were having early birthdays until Hall picked them up.

I think Razor was pretty lucky it was a wet day and a few marks were dropped.

However, he's taking little steps and hopefully he can start getting more confidence in himself and develop in the role of a key backman.

guilty as well altho more to do with his lack of nouse in the backline.
he will always struggle if he goes one on one with a bigger type but he has learnt not to get into that situation.he uses his pace and reach to pefection.

cheers!

face it. Richos 7 was an anomoly. He never kicks 7 straight. Not in the dry or in the wet. He was in the zone yesterday and nothing could stop him (not a defender, not the weather etc etc)

Trying to compare Barry Hall and Richo yesterday is just not on. Hall had shocking supply and struggled in the wet (if you dont believe me, watch the replay and see the marks he dropped). Richo has unstoppable).

DOnt blow Ray Halls trumpet (yet) when it doesnt deserve blowing. Reserve your comment to when he beats an inform defender in good football conditions

no where near mad mal look my point is that he was used as trade fodder last year and he has held down 2 good defenders last few weeks, i really do not hink he is a good defender and that spud plays him out of posi anyway but gasper is a joke there now, give ray his due he has doen well

Eating humble pie as well and gladly so. I didn't think Razor had the body strength to go with BBBBH but he proved me wrong with a number of good spoils. He still made a one or two mistakes but that's understandable as he's still learning the caper. Overall a very good game.
