I think Thornton is a good solid player however I think he is being overated due to Hawthorns big $ bid and the fact that Carlton are undermanned.

I wouldn't mind him at Richmond but certainly not for three year $900k contract (we have already been burnt paying way over the odds for defenders ala Gaspar).

Also in regards to a straight swap, I'd prefer a tough durable midfielder who picks up 25-30 touchs a game then a third string defender.

1. Tuck to Carlton, Thornton to Richmond
2. Tuck to Carlton, Thornton to Hawthorn, if hawthorn can get pick 15 to Richmond
what are your thoughts and other trade options

I would rather keep Thornton than get Tuck, however if we are to lose him anyway, Tuck might be a handy pickup rather than take the chance of a youngster at #24.

Plus Richmond need a KP defender, so they just might take Thornton for him. I'm almost excited about this rumour!

Tuck definately sounds better than a single 2nd rounder from Hawthorn. Like ODN I would still prefer keeping Thornton but if he does go, Tuck would be a pretty good outcome.
