Cox reminds me of Wirrpunda, but taller (190cm) and stronger (body frame). He attacks from half-back and is right there to scoop the ball up single handedly, plus he has spectacular skills. Also can be used as a pinch-hitting forward.

The signs are there...

He has no type. He's one weird egg!

I kinda like him, so don't get me wrong, but he's a little bit in the Andrew Williams size of weirdness. An in between size.

He's got far more ability than Willo....or at least far less scope for the laughably pathetic. Still, I worry about his size.

No but i have seen him previously playing for willy seconds out of the goal square and he looked a natural forward.

he might not play at all, the guy spent half the season in the willi 2s and is not evennon the senior list . Has the club even committed to keeping him??

lets not get ahead of ourselves, he is very raw and has a long long way to go

He played a couple of games for the Willi 2's before being permanently moved up to the 1's, and that was early in the season when we had virtually no injuries and Willi had to accomodate about 20 Collingwood players.

He will undoubtedly be kept for another season.

True, but is fairly new to footy altogether, and given that he was drafted in December, he is yet to have a full preseason at AFL level.

He's good enough to give another shot as a rookie I reckon. Trouble is we might have a full rookie book at the start of the season, and we may not want to do that.

That is the problem figgy. Everyone says nicholls is going to be good, toovey is going to be good and cox is going to be good. O'brien will be elevated and with what is supposed to be a bumper draft I can't see one of these 3 being elevated to the senior list this year. surely the club will not keep 3 players on the rookie list. Isn't there a max of 4??? this would mean only 1 spot come rookie draft time and if the draft is so deep it could mean missing out on talent in the rookie draft.

Thoughts??

Pre Season got me exciting, seeing him lead from the pocket, however he was played in the backline for most of the year in the seniors from what I hear, despite playing forward majority of the time for the reserves.

The Prelim Final gave me a great look and he was very good off the backline. Liked to run and rebounded well. He and Anthony made the game pretty enjoyable, despite the 4 goals kicked on JA, he was pretty good I thought.
