I noticed recently that Shannon Hurn played in the 2004, 2005 grand finals for central district. He must of been around 16-17? Was he that good or just lucky? Some shed some light for me

My boss was an AFL talent scout on the side. And I remmeber asking him one day who is the next big thing.
He said this kid called Shannon Hurn.. He'll be playing AFL. This was when Hurn ws 14-16.

Hurn was a absolute man child for his age and a leader. Strong enough to play plenty of league SANFL before he got drafted. Was more of a bullocking midfielder then but never had that top end fitness for AFL to play there but had an elite leg. Half back/quarterback definitely suits him now.
