Sharma is a knob.

That's why he need some of him more mature mates in the Indian cricket team to pull him into line. I have said throughout htis thread, that he is 19 and may mature, unitl than, someone needs to tell him not to send of blokes that have smashed a ton against him and his men. Is that so much to ask? Unitl than, in the eyes of epople like myself, he will come across as a knob.

You are still the one who has called this thread "Sharma is a knob." It is kind of hard to defend yourself when that is what you have chosen as the title. Maybe "Sharma needs to mature" would have been a better choice of words.

And once again you fail to acknowledge the moments of excellent sportsmanship he has achieved in this series, whcih I have asked you about numerous times and will continue to do so until you comment on them

You've never referred to a 19yo or an adolescent as a knob? I have, there are many young kids who fit this category. Take for instance that kid who through that massive party in Sydney. He is knob. He may mature into something decent but at this stage he is a knob.

Can't comment on Sharma's acts of good sportsmenship as I havn't seen anything that really stood out. So there is your answer, I don't comment on things I haven't seen. What is your opinion of Sharma sending of players in a very spiteful manner after they have made tons?

Not really, it's like talking to a brick wall.

You ask a question, knowing they'll cop out and it replies with a bunch of rubbish.

Fact remains, you still can't argue a point.

scroll up the page Phil and read some of what has been said by the Bushranger , i think you will get enough answers there:rolleyes: your not much ;)

Respond to the post, not the poster. I thought this was one of bigfooty's rules?

Kumble- his whining after the test saying we didn't play in the right spirit, when his team sent a player out with the wrong pair of gloves and his number 11 smashed a ball to slip and waited there, just like Clarke
That didn't prove he was unsportsmanlike, just that he is a hypocrite.

His appeal for an lbw in this match when the ball struck Hayden three wickets width outside off-stump was what showed his lack of sportsmanship. It was so clearly not out that he and his team-mates could only have been appealing in the hope of the umpire making a mistake.

I've completely lost respect for Kumble out of all of this to be honest.

As for Sharma, normally his behaviour wouldn't be that much of an issue in my books - after all he is young and a fast bowler. But his occasional in-your-face type antics (and the behaviour of some of his teammates) stand out like a beacon given how the Indians have taken the moral high ground on behaving within the spirit of the game.

I don't comment on what I don't hear. How do you know what he said was very spiteful? It's ridiculous what is there to see? He shook Symonds hand at the end of the day he made 100 in Sydney, despite getting him out for 30. He shook Gilchrists hand the other day when he was dismissed. Can you comment on those moments now?

Didn't have to hear what he said, you and I could see that he had a spiteful demeanour. If you are going to be childish and deny this than I shall not debate the topic with you anymore. As for shaking hands well if he did these things than that is great. Again, his more mature team mates need to pull him into line if he continues to send of guys that have mad tons. Is that too much to ask?

Okay, I looked up the dismissals on youtube and they only have the Hayden one at the moment so I won't comment on the clarke one as I want to see it again after this.

Yes Sharma looks at Hayden after dismissing him, he is yelling but he doesn't say anyhting to him. Whats the beef?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with what Sharma did, I am not a fan of the way the Indians have behaved during this series but picking out moments when they arent there is just stupid.

Sharma has been one of the better behaved Indians this tour and is the youngest...massive credit to him.

Throughout this whole saga of who's a knob, who isnt a knob, ra ra ra ra ra, one thing remains clear but untouched. The captain of the Indian Cricket Team made serious allegations in a public forum that Australia did not play in the spirit of the game. The rules of conduct set out by the ICC are quite clear.

Why are these allegations not being investigated by the appropriate authorities?

Why is Cricket Australia letting this be swept under the carpet?

How can a Captain of any team get away with making allegations that another team is in breach of the rules of conduct without an investigation taking place?

C. Rules of Conduct – Offences and Penalties.
1. Players and/or Team Officials shall at all times conduct play within the spirit of the game as well as
within the Laws of Cricket and the Captains are responsible at all times for ensuring that this is
adhered to (Rule CC 5.1 deals with the application of and penalties for breach of this Rule).

Found the clarke dismissal

Unfortunately this is not 100% clear. Sharma definately says something, but it is not clear if it is directed at Clarke, who doesn't turn his head as though it was in the split second we see him. Sharma certainly doesn't look aggressive. Is Sharma talking to Indian players out of shot or to Clarke? Not definitive.

On the evidence of both of these videos I would have to say that Sharma is not a knob.

Just a young bloke making his way, give him some slack. He's like 19

Rather impress with his abilities, actually
Agree with you here. He is going to be a great fast bowler for india in the next few years. He reminds me of Jason Gilespie.
