UK telemovies set in the early 1800's and based on "Richard Sharpe", a sargeant in the British Infantry who eventually works his way up to Colonel.
The Duke of Wellington is a recurring theme, and the theme music "Over the Hill and far away" is a haunting tune that gets into your head.
They were made approx 10 years ago, and there's approx 15-20 of them.
Main character was played by Sean Bean and the supporting cast is fantastic. (His best mate, the Irishman Patrick Harper, the evil Obadiah Hakeswell etc, any of the absolutely stunningly beautiful women ......).
