I'd have Schulz kicking for my life against North where he has a career total of 30.3, if it's West Coast (9.14) I might be asking another player, maybe Robbie Gray with 14.5.

Do know what his career total against Brisbane would be? As he's kicked bags of 7 on two occasions against them.

People talk about our 16.4 as being an issue because we aren't having enough shots but when you are kicking goals you lose field position and the ability to set up the forward press.

If you pay attention most of the points that come against us come in bursts, The dogs kicked 4 points, 3 of which from very tough spots, all with the ball never really leaving their end. If they kicked a goal the whole complexion of the game changes, the ball goes back to the middle, we escape the press and maybe we bang on 2 quick from centre breaks. Of course we ended up breaking the press and went down and had a 7 point play with Hartlett missing and then Wingard goaling, had Hartlett kicked it, maybe we don't get the 2nd shot and the bullies get the next?

The point I'm making is that our accuracy affects the number of shots we have because we are getting the max straight away and reseting rather than getting the repeat chances. The Bullies got a few repeat chances because they missed but if they did kick straight they most likely would not have had the same number of shots.

Good post. I won't pretend to be any sort of expert on the technicalities of the game, but I have often thought that this is where the old "if we had only kicked 12 4 instead of 7 9 we would have won" argument falls down. I could never have explained it that well though. :)

This is also why inside 50 counts can often be misleading - score a goal and play is reset in the middle, score a behind/have the opposition repel the attack and the forward press gives you a chance to get repeat chances and repeat inside 50 entries. Forward line efficiency is the key and speed of ball movement is what gets you there.
