As you all know there is no love for the salary cap destroyer, where is he at? Still injured? Will he get to 50 games for us , will he get to 100 combined, has he got private health insurance?

Should we offer a contract extension because big men take longer

So many questions so few answers

Wasn’t even mentioned as a second ruck option in Hardwick presser. Gone at the end of this year

With Chol, Soldo, Coleman Jones, and Balta coming through as potential ruck depth and Nank and Grigg our mains no need for him won’t be on our list next year

I'd suggest his injury has gone on so long that while he plays AFL it's not likely to improve greatly. Don't see him getting another contract at this stage. Hope he can heal and have a life post footy....

Was going to be the next big thing after his stellar 2016 season of tap rucking . Give him 5 more years.:p

Just doesn't suit our game style. It is no coincidence that the year he rucked was the year we had our greatest drop in form - 2016 - was the year he rucked. Now I'm not blaming him solely for all our woes that year but our midfielders seemed lost when he rucked. He often won the hit out but he was far too predictable and once the ball was in dispute, he went missing. Unlike Nankervis or Maric before him, he never won a contested ball, never tackled or shepherded, he never created space for the midfielders around stoppages. He just doesn't offer anything but hit outs to 'advantage' and occasionally mark. He is a terrible kick and is slow as treacle.

I much prefer out current ruck line up and Soldo as our backup. Soldo has learned the art from Maric, understands the importance of throwing your weight around. Soldo and even Chol are ahead of Hampson now and I hope we never see him play at AFL level again....

...He does have a hot wife though so its not all bad. :D maxresdefault.jpg

He has a disc injury that I’m guessing is being managed until he retires and then will quite possibly end up having a microdiscectomy. There is no end to his recovery, unfortunately it’s a constant thing that has to be managed. He can’t even sit down for, I’m guessing, no longer than 30 minutes, so to be even running laps is huge for him as running with even a bulged disc can lead to a prolapse.

So give the man a break

Will he get 50 games for us - LOL

Hambone in his prime (before broken back) played 63 senior games for Carlton after 7 years; we've got 25 games out of him in 4 years and he played no games in AFL 2017- that could be a clue

seriously do the maths

Yeah. This is a shit thread, he's still a Tiger and he's going to be in pain for the rest of his life and he's not even past 30.

Agree; no contract. i suspect because he is not high profile or putting himself in the media he has a stable, totally separate life to AFL and will transition seamlessly. His exit from carlspoon to us would have teached him about the fragility of a professional sportsman's life

no wonder he is a good TAP ruckman

Waste of space, who we needlessly wasted a second round pick on.
Showed next to nothing at Carlton and we thought we could make him into a player but couldn't pull off the impossible.
Leaves the RFC at year's end about $1.3 million richer than when he came for a less than 5 per cent return on investment.
Hysterically, some as recently as a few weeks ago still thought he was best 22 and would be great in tandem with Nankervis :eek::eek::eek:
