RIP to an icon of American film. She had her own TV show shown in Australia in the early '60's and was a child actor starting at the very young age of 3 in 1932, becoming a household name by the time she was 6. Later in her life she was an ambassador to the US.
"My only problems have been with Americans who, in the beginning, refused to believe I had grown up since my movies."

Perhaps how most will remember her, from a time when kids were just kids, the good ship lollipop has berthed way up in the sky.

Was compulsory school holiday viewing, along with Abbot and Costello movies, when I was little

x 4.
Amazing how some of these old Hollywood stars are still around. I only recently found out Mickey Rooney is still going.

Good Lord, he must be a hundred. I remember being surprised when reading about Storm Boy's Mr Percival passing away 4 or 5 years ago

Jerry Lewis as well, although I hate naming names, next you know they are in tomorrows obituaries.
Of course he was another generation on. But I remember seeing him on TV when he was here about 10 years ago and he looked like crap.

Jerry Lewis was declared clinically dead once, he's had cancer and diabetes and recently collapsed, so he's pretty much had it all, however, to date, he is still alive.

I once read that Jerry Lewis had a lot of problems with his back too.

I agree its difficult to believe Mickey Rooney is still going, given he was making movies in the 1930s.

Sad that Shirley Temple has passed away -RIP - but at least she appears to have avoided the perils experienced by so mant other child stars over the years.
