Has there been any approach by any Council to any clubs in respect of sharing or exiting grounds. Received information report that a prominent VAFA club, with strong council links, seeks to find a new home for its expanding junior base. Possibily at the expense of a current rival..

Seems Old Xavs may be moving and Prahran will have ground to themselves. The c grade side looking for a ground for their many junior teams dont want to share. Also they want to move their senior homebase south a bit. ie Carnegie, Bentleigh, Glen Huntly.

Not sure about that. My info is that senior team have a base lined up & it's the juniors needing to be sorted. Again, a rival may cop a bullett in the process.

You can rule Bentleigh out. Due to Glen Eira Council regulations for 2010 we were not able to enter 4 teams (Seniors Reserves Thirds & U/19s) in the VAFA & have them all play at Bentleigh Rec. Our Thirds were going to have to play elsewhere but we couldn't field an U/19s this year.

Point is, we couldn't have 2 teams playing on the ground on the same day every week, so it counts us out.

AJAX have been sniffing around Glenhuntly for a number of years and have yet to move Caulfield out. But they may have eyes on something else?

More info. The C grade club is looking for reserves with two ovals especially ones that have been resurfaced. This brings Murrumbeena's ground in SFL into the picture

It is Princes Park, they want to share or remove Caulfield Bears from there and Ajax juniors are based there.
Could find there is a short list that PP is possibly on. No doubt, the destination requires multiple grounds and Ormond & Murrumbeena fit that bill. Resurfacing an obvious bonus.

Don't be too sure. The c grade side in question tried it out with another club in the area a couple of years ago by starting off sharing for their juniors. Not beyond the realms of possibility Gunn. This clubs are making huge moves to get out from where they play now. Linton street is also in their aim.

Not a hope in hell of removing Ormond from the Gunn...
The palestinians had a similar view. You possibly have the right councillors on side (whatever that takes). Any clubs on any short list should be proactive rather than reactive in these circumstances. Obviously best for a SFL club to get a notice to vacate or advice they have a new neighbour.
