Yep, if it was a simple āthank you very much sirā from Pyke & Co then it would be out by now. I reckon we should temper our expectations. Maybe Gerard āGusherā Whately was on the money this morning and the Eagles exec are pushing back so thereās more deliberation required.
I personally am of the view that we shouldnāt have asked for compo. We will get there again with the core of what we have (ie. Harley and friends), or not, and if we do I donāt want the purple flogs or anyone else being able to spill vitriol on taint.

Don't underestimate the effect of priority picks. We've had players from priority picks play in each of our 2006 and 2018 flags. Early 90s was a bit different (we had a bunch of restrictions when we built the inaugural squad).
Shuey and Darling were too from 2018, so it's not like it was some token thing that didn't help us.
Draft is also totally compromised with Academies, so we need something just to try and stay even. Good on Freo and Adelaide for trying to do it off their own backs, but I haven't seen much come from it yet.
