Just got back, and I must say that was un-********ing-believeable, probably the 2nd best gig I've been to just behind the Flaming Lips. Can't really be bothered writing anything remotely detailed at this time but was incredibly surprised at the reception they got from the crowd, I just assumed it'd be the same hipster ********ers that seem to show up at these kind of shows in Melbourne. Anywho would be interested to know if anyone else went to see them in Melbourne, or around the country and if so what were yours thought/what was the reception like? Okay, time for napnaps.

Don't know heaps about them, but have played ( ) and Agaeits Byrjun a fair bit, and it's fair to say that their gigs would be somewhat different. If I had a spare $70 I'd be going to the Brisbane show for sure.

Hopefully someone can muster up the inspiration to write a review of some kind!

Thanks for that - I was on my run today and went into the city to grab an MX for nightshift. When I went past all these pot smoking hippies outside the arts centre - not that I have anything against that - just though it a bit unusual of a place for this activity and wondered what was on there.
And there you go my question has been answered - NOW who the F is Sigur Ros ;)

Saw them few years ago in London (just after Agaeits Byrjun was released) and they were just awesome. They stopped halfway through so a famous poet could read his poems - they were in Icelandic so n-one had a clue what it was about. I can remember that the guitarist plaed the entire gig with a violin bow.

They didn't include adelaide on this tour, so I've missed out - not happy at all.

Yup, the guitarist using a bow to play the guitar, the bassist using a drum stick to play the bass at one point. It was ridiculous...in a good way.

Playing the bass with a drum stick is not as silly as it sounds - bass strings are under a fair bit of tension (similar to drum skins) so you can get the same staccato bounce effect as a drum hit.

I saw the Doves last week and the guitarist played his guitar upside down (not left-handed and restrung ala Hendrix).

Still pretty annoyed Sigur Ros didn't get to adelaide, but that's life. Heck - I even chose my profile name because of them.
